An amazingly comfortable shipping container with every creature comfort. The solitude was a bonus.....Alpine is a lovely town, the views are gorgeous.
We loved it!
Perfect little place to stay. Beautiful inside and great mountain views. Location was convenient for area sight seeing.
We absolutely loved "Off the Beaten Path!" The tiny home is large enough for couple with all the comforts of home and a great view! The central location allows for day trips to Fort Davis, McDonald Observatory, Big Bend, Terlingua, Marfa, and Marathon. It was perfect for us and our 14 year old yellow lab!
We loved staying at this tiny container house! This place was just perfect for my husband and I, and we never felt crowded. The views are amazing and the stars at night are unbelievable. We definitely hope to come back someday!
Great little spot
Not the prettiest thing from the outside, but the home was as cozy as could be. The heater worked great (never had to break out the backups) and great views of the surrounding area! I also loved that I could bring along my dog, thank you so much for this gem!
Thank you so much for your honest review. I totally agree that it isn't much to look at from the outside, but then you turn and look at the views, and you forget that the container is a bit unattractive. Thanks so much for giving us a chance. Happy travels.
The PERFECT Alpine experiece
I was lucky enough to live here for 3 months last winter and I loved it so much I returned for a visit with my boyfriend (who proposed on this trip!) This tiny house is well done and more than spacious enough for a couple (and dogs!). The privacy is something you will not find with any other Alpine rental. The landlord is amazing. The views are unparalleled. Every morning and evening you feel like you're in a picture when you see the sunrise and sunset. And the STARS, again, there is no better place to see them. It's hard to explain, but this tiny house is such a special place that gives you the full Alpine experience in the best way possible. We will be back soon!
Located on FM 1703 off of 90, we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, which is just 20 minutes away. Marfa is filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 30 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
