About Lynn O'Neill
I am the homeowner and also a Real Estate Professional, licensed real estate broker in Maine and Massachusetts Native New Englander Affiliated with Homeaway/VRBO since 2004
Lynn O'Neill purchased this House in 2004
Why Lynn O'Neill chose Orr's Island
As I approached the front door of 10 Sunset View, I could see the water from Harpswell sound through the side lights and knew this was the one. I bought the home with the intention of renting and enjoying it myself as a get-away. I cherish my get-aways and have tried to keep the cottage - simple, with a vintage seaside feel. It has become primarily a "vacation rental" property. It does have the modern amenities and devices that we all need to work remotely and stay in touch with our friends and family. There is also a TV in each bedroom. I have successfully rented the home each year to great tenants that seek the quiet, tranquil setting, panoramic water views, birdwatching, boat watching, boating, fishing, grilling ….I often tell people being on Orr's Island is like stepping back in time, away from the hustle and bustle of our work and busy lives. A place to retreat, reflect and regroup with family and friends. The property is managed with my brother's assistance and he lives locally.
What makes this House unique
The property has a large deck overlooking Harpswell Sound, direct water access to Harpswell sound with dock and floats. 10 Sunset View is set on 3/4 of an acre with a private back yard in a quiet neighborhood. There is a large front yard and plenty of parking. This home offers first floor living with a master bedroom and bath on the first floor. It is very well equipped and appointed. Not your typical cottage! Absolutely amazing sunsets!!

Loved this place.
This house was wonderful. The sun sets over the water every night. It is such a lovely and peaceful location. The house itself is in really good condition. I can't wait to come back.
Had a wonderful time the property is lovely house is decorated so nice...however the upstairs bathroom could use some TLC...
Thank you for your review and feedback.
I am constantly improving the decor and updating the cottage. I am the owner and a realtor and understand what guest are expecting and strive to exceed traveler's expectations. The recent improvements are evident in the kitchen with new appliances and although the sink and toilet have been replaced in the upstairs bathroom, I have not tackled the upstairs shower which is part of future plans.
I look forward to having you return as a guest next year.
Very comfortable and amazing views of water and nature
Great layout, well equipped and well maintained- relaxing experience. Peaceful, spectacular views and lots to do.
We took a day trip to Boothbay Harbor, enjoyed and restaurants in Brunswick and visited Estes for twin lobster special overlooking the harbor and gorgeous sunsets.
Love This Cottage
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maine. The cottage was so much more than most rental homes we've stayed in. This one felt like home; comfortable seating, cottage decorations, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect with walking trails close by. There were beautiful peaceful views from decks, living room, dining room, and master bedroom. Convenient garage and large mud room with washer and dryer. Everything was clean and well maintained. Shopping and restaurants close by. We fell in love with Maine, looking forward to a return trip.

The perfect place to experience Maine!
When you think of Maine and your expectations and visualizations about your trip here, this is the perfect place to experience it! The minute you walk in the door you feel like you are in your own home away from home. The natural wood brings to mind feelings of a cabin-getaway and senses are delighted even more by the artful interior design of sea and nautical themes. Seconds later you turn to find the bay in front of you and that's all you can talk about and absorb as you repeat over and over, " Look at that view." It's hard to take yourself away to move on to the rest of this beautiful home.
The master bedroom views will continue to bring awe, not only of the bay but also the king size bed and TV. After a few minutes of joyful contemplation you turn to find a spacious closet and bath, both welcoming you to your cottage experience. The kitchen and dining room are anyone's pleasure. Every imaginable implement and appliance has been thoughtfully provided to continue to make your stay an easy and enjoyable one, whether you're a gourmet who plans to fix your own lobster feasts or a microwave master who prefers to heat-and-go. Either way, seafood houses are just minutes away and waiting for your visit with fresh-from-the-bay delicacies. The bedrooms and bath upstairs are cozy and inviting and great for the kids or an afternoon nap escape. The attached garage will nicely hold all of your seasonal recreation toys and newly-bought treasures.
Back to that view. The deck that runs the length of the house, complete with adirondacks and umbrellas, will surely be your calling. Whether you grab a good book, pair of binoculars, grill, or just sit, you will make many joyful memories here and the scene will forever be with you and a reminder to return many times again.
Great House right on the water
My wife and I rented this cottage along with another couple for three days. This is a wonderful house and I would recommend it to anyone. The place was very clean and comfortable with great views from the deck.
My wife and i are from California and have gone to New England five different times. We hope that we will be able to stay here on our next trip.
