About Annette Chaplin
Life is London has always been very fast paced with retail showrooms, travelling to design fares and all the daily hassel of running a business. Puglia gave us the opportunity to re-claim ourselves, find tranquility, beauty in nature and to understand and live 'La Dolce Vita'.
Annette Chaplin purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Annette Chaplin chose Province of Brindisi
The relaxed life style we could create here made it the villa for us.
What makes this Villa unique
Puglia is steeped in History and traditions of a past time, It fills, for many, something that is missing with the pace of life today. it allows you to kick back and chill, the life is simple, the food fabulous and the local wines......... It has the finest sandy beaches in Italy with the Ionian Sea being clear with hues of blue and green. It has many coves which ensure in the summer months that the sea is always warm. The Adriatic is cooler and the beaches are a mixture of sand and pebble. The light here is incredible, so bright it naturally gives an endorphin kick when you wake.

A most welcome secluded paradise
The unrelenting pressures of work were still reverberating through my mind as the villa gate slid open to reveal what can only be described as an oasis of beauty. A landscaped garden, strikingly lush and green, consisting of manicured lawns and mature trees with strategic hedging provide a welcome invitation into the grounds of this most beautiful villa. The property is sited within its own substantial borders offering privacy and security for the whole family to enjoy a well earned reprieve from the pressures of everyday modern living. We were greeted by the non resident housekeeper who went on to facilitate a tour the facilities we would have use of for the next 7 days. Inevitably the kids insisted on being shown the pool before anything else and what a pool it is. A large pool as we were later to find out, strategically sited to take full advantage of the days sun was on offer to the entire family. With a diving board at the deeper end and plenty of water toys for family fun in the water there were ample chairs, tables and sunbeds to keep everyone happy. The villa was, as expected spotlessly clean, roomy and well equipped. It is clear that this most beautiful place is not just a holiday villa but is someone's substantial home in the sun. The local supermarket we preferred to use is just a short car ride away and stocked the fresh local produce we were seeking to put on the menu. The nearby town of Franca Villa Fontana is quaint, interesting and has an abundance of choice restaurants catering to family needs. It was always a pleasure returning to the Villa, which even has an external Pizza oven, although we simply ran out of time to use it this time around. We all loved this villa very much and without a doubt I would recommend it to anyone seeking an oasis to relax and enjoy family time in a most beautiful home. We will be returning later this year where I am determined to demonstrate to the family my talents as a Pizza Chef.
Steve what a lovely review, you had me wanting to stay there!!!! I’m really so pleased that you and your family had a relaxed time there. We look forward to welcoming you back another time.
Stunning villa, beautiful garden & big pool.
A relaxing stay in a beautifully decorated luxurious villa, the owner provided over and above for all our needs. Though there were many places one could visit, the villa was just to lovely to leave, very peaceful and private. I certainly will be coming back again!
Thank you for your lovely review, so pleased that you enjoyed The villa.
Beautiful villa, lovely pool first class property
A fantastic villa that catered for all our needs as a group of girls for a relaxing week away. Fabulous pool to swim everyday and do pilates and yoga by the pool.
Well furnished bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Great space outside to eat and relax after a great meal with friends
Close to Francavilla to eat out and go shopping.
Definitely recommend this villa, I will definitely be going back. It has everything you need,
Thank you for your lovely review, am so pleased you and your guests enjoyed your time at the villa.
Tranquil and nourishing
My sister and I do a week away in January every year, just to recentre ourselves and this year we choose Annette's house in Francavilla. It was perfect! Arriving into the white drive way with the gorgeous olive tree in the centre took our breath away. The house is beautifully laid out with everything we needed. Puglia is only slightly warmer than the UK in January but with beautiful blue skies, we made a fire every day in the living room. We practised yoga in the house every morning and enjoyed a moka coffee for breakfast with some local pastries... I'm lucky I didn't come back heavier!! We shopped for our food at the local supermarket - familia in francavilla. It has everything!! The fish was glorious and I couldn't get enough of the local cheese. It was just a shame we were doing dry January otherwise we would have made our way through the local organic prosecco.
A wonderful trip, thank you so much for sharing your house with us Annette.
A Beautiful Villa
I had a fantastic stay at this villa. The villa itself is beautifully laid out and was immaculate . The pool is set in a large garden with fig and pomegranate trees. Extremely pretty. The pool was a good size for swimming or for a family with children and again was very well looked after.
There are several beaches driving distance from the villa with great cafes and restaurants. Shops and supermarkets near by. The local restaurants were extremely good and catered for most tastes. Fantastic wines.
I had a fantastic holiday .
Relaxing week in Puglia
We were delighted with the villa which has excellent accommodation and a superb pool. Everything we needed was provided and the facilities are of a high quality.
The villa provides a good base for exploring Puglia and is a ten minute drive to Francavilla Fontana which has supermarkets and an abundance of restaurants and cafes.
Our local contacts Zohar and James were incredibly helpful. Overall we had a great relaxing week.
In the summer months there is nightly entertainment in both the baroque town of Francavilla Fontana (4.5 k) and the medieval town of Oria (8k). Entertainment takes the various forms of music, dance, the local Pizzica is a dance that tells the story of the journey between dreams and hopes,an ancient tradition. Also there is theatre.and open air cinema in the piazzas, summer 2013 saw Skyfall amongst others to watch whilst enjoying the local Ice cream. There are also the famous Medieval games where all contestents are dressed to do battle in costume to honour their quarter in Oria in August. There are always fireworks to celebrate celebration! Being nestled between the Ionian and Adriatic seas, allows you to choose depending on the breeze, just a glance at the trees to see, which beach to visit, both a 25 minute drive from the villa.Further afield you have beautiful Byzantine city of Leece(53k) from which you see the influences that have made Puglia so unique. A good drive to observe how Puglia changes from North heading South, enjoying a super lunch whilst gazing at where the 2 seas meet is Santa Maria de Leucca (104k). Heading north you have the Zoo at Fasano (50k) and the remarkable caves of Grotte di Cattellana (53k). My indulgence: laying by the pool watching the swallows dive for water whilst chilling. My treat: a 45 minute flight to Rome leaving in the morning from Brindisi airport for shopping, lunch and people watching and being back at the villa by 18.00 for a chilled Prosecco.
