Nestled on the Amalfi Coast in the beautiful scenery of Marina del Cantone is Villa Flori. The Marina is famous for wonderful seafood restaurants and you may well spot one of the celebrities who sail from the island of Capri to sample the delectable local dishes.
Perched above the azure sea, but protected from the wind by the mountains, the villa offers stunning views of the harbour, dotted with gently bobbing fishing boats. A private walkway of just 110 steps leads you directly from your terrace to the pebbled beach below, for a swim where the crystal clear warm waters lap over the rocky shoreline.
You will need a vehicle to fully benefit from your stay at Villa Flori. There are parking spaces for three cars.
The villa itself is arranged over two floors. On the lower floor you will find a spacious living room with simple, stylish décor. There are several comfortable leather sofas and a large flat screen television. Large wooden framed double doors grace each wall, waiting to be thrown open on warm days to let the sea breezes enter. There is a dining table to seat six. There is also an internet Wifi connection and air conditioning throughout the apartment.
The well equipped kitchen offers everything you will need for relaxed self-catering, including a four burner hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and coffee maker. There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board in a utility room.
Also on the ground floor is a bathroom, with shower, toilet and wash basin. There is also a study with space to read or work in peace.
A short distance from the living room is a separate annexe. This offers a twin bedroom with two single beds, plus a private bathroom, with shower, washbasin and toilet.
Surrounding the lower level are several beautiful terraces, each with a different perspective on the spectacular seascape. The sea varies in shade from dawn to dusk; from the palest grey, to the brightest turquoise, before turning to dark blue. You will be spoiled for choice when deciding where to relax, with a choice of tables and chairs and even a hammock, whether in sunshine, or in shade.
Between the lower and upper floors is a stunning open staircase, taking you to the four double bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has wonderful sea views, with two having a small terrace with table and chairs accessed through double doors. The décor is modern with clean lines, with comfortable beds and the benefit of a flat screen satellite television and air conditioning in every room.
Also on the upper floor are two bathrooms, one with blue tiles and the other emerald green, both with an invigorating and relaxing hydro shower, plus a toilet, double sink, bidet and hairdryer.
If you’re looking to explore the area, why not hire a boat to visit the tiny islands of Gallo Lungo, Castelluccia, and La Rotonda, which sit on the horizon to the east of Marina del Cantone. Called the Isole Sirenuse (Isles of the Sirens), they were once said to be home to mythical mermaids who lured unwitting sailors onto the rocks.
Villa Flori offers exceptional accommodation on the Amalfi Coast, with everything that a larger party needs for a relaxing break.
Please note, there will be a final cleaning charge of € 200 added to the rental period at the time of booking.
PS II.: Note: From 1 April to 31 October the Municipal Council of Massa Lubrense has instituted a mandatory tourist tax on all temporary residents.
The tourist tax must be added to the total amount of stay and has to be pay cash at the arrival.
We stayed at Villa Flori for 5 nights with my large family and 4 small children. Marina Del Cantone is a great little beach town gem. We came in two cars, there is parking at the Villa, but really a scooter and boat rides make for a better experience. It's a relatively short boat ride to Capri and Positano, easier than by car. Also don't miss the restaurant one cove away, accessible only by boat. We ate both in the Villa and at local restaurants. There's small stores up in Nerano and Sant Agata. The villa is remote, but for our family and mostly lounging by the beach, having fun in and out of the water, the villa was perfect. One warning, there was construction next door that could be loud during the day, but it didn't really bother us too much.
The Villa Flori is wonderful place and the staff at Feeling Italy were excellent. However when we booked the accommodation
it was to be four double rooms plus an annex with two single beds and a bathroom. When we got there the annex was locked and a single bed had been placed in the office. This meant that two women, who had expected to have the single beds, had to share a double and a fourteen year old boy to take the single. As it was this caused no problem but it could have done in different circumstances. We did not we point this out to the Feeling Italy's representative because long delays caused us to arrive at 1.00 AM and she had been so helpful that we did not want to present her with a problem that was unimportant
at that time of night. Apart from this we had a wonderful time! I would recommend it to anyone and would happily go back. Thanks!
We were 8 adults and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Flori. The house itself was not large and the bedrooms and baths were not great but the outdoor terraces made the place special. 4 different levels of terraces followed by meandering steps to the water and additional terraces at water level. The area is somewhat remote but you can easily walk to the marina del cantone where there are several waterside restaurants.
One drawback if you are going soon is construction on the adjacent villa which started early on weekdays. Feeling Italy was very responsive and helpful in arranging day trips and seeing to our needs. We took the private boat to Capri and if you do this make sure you include their suggestion for lunch and accept the chef's 3 course meal for the table. This was a highlight.
Our one regret is we didn't save enough time for driving and exploring the amalfi coast, only making it to Positano. The stretch of coastline approaching Positano was spectacular and I suspect the coastline beyond Positano offered more of the same.
We stayed for a week with another family at this villa. It was large and had plenty of room for all 9 of us. The villa is modern and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice barbeque out back. Several flights of stairs lead down to a small private beach where the kids spent hours snorkeling. Marina del Cantone with its beaches, shops, and restaurants is a short walk down the road. We were able to take the local bus to Termini and Nerano. A car is recommended and would be helpful for getting to Sorrento, Pompei, and Naples but we were able to get by without cars just fine by using the drivers our hosts recommended. We would definitely recommend this villa to families looking to vacation near the Amalfi Coast.
