Labor Day Weekend

We loved it! The photos do not do the cabin justice. The kitchen is perfect to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, the upstairs bed was sooo comfortable and the cabin was decorated so nicely. Everything was so wonderful and we were so sad to leave. It was so peaceful, the hammock was so relaxing. Sitting on the front porch in the early hours was so nice. We especially enjoyed hearing the river. We will definately be back. The road up was such an adventure and we are so glad we brought the Tahoe! This cabin is so relaxing and so romantic. You feel like there is no one else around. It was so difficult to actually venture out and visit the area because we didn't want to leave the cabin.

Quaint cabin close to everything

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed here twice and each time was perfect. I love relaxing on the rocking chairs and listening to the river in the distance. That front porch really is wonderful, early mornings or at dusk, it is just so relaxing out there. The cabin itself has everything you need, it is really comfortable, makes you really feel right at home. Asheville is less than 20 minutes away so everyday we were able to go to the city and come back at night to the hot tub! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was quaint, cute, private, and cozy - perfect for our family of three (husband, wife, 16 mo). The hot tub was super nice. The pictures don't do it justice. It's bigger than it looks. Though we didn't cook much while there, the kitchen was more than adequate for all cooking needs. Next time we'll definitely use the grill. Definitely plan on having a fire in the stone fire place if it's cold enough.

Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

Close to town, but far enough to have some quiet from the hustle of the city. The cabin is up in the mountain/hillside right off the Broad River with great views of the surrounding wilderness and sounds of the river. Believe June when she tells you to bring a vehicle equipped for getting to the cabin. My husband and I thought we would be alright getting up the the cabin in our truck (RWD), but boy, were we mistaken. It has rained the day before and loosened the dirt and gravel making it very difficulty to get to the property. It was quite an experience considering we didn't arrive in town until the evening and it was very dark as there are no street lights or indicators as to which direction the cabin is (the drive splits into 3 directions). Other than the journey to the property, it is well equipped with kitchen items, fire wood, games, TV, washer/dryer, music stereo and best of all... the hot tub!! Also, the pictures do not do the views from this cabin justice; the view from the back patio first thing in the morning with the birds singing was quite the experience and such a great way to start your day. Great for couples who want some quiet time and a great get-away location, although I would not recommend for small children under 3. (-We brought our 1 year old daughter and found space to be limited) With that said, I would definitely recommend this cabin for romantic getaways or outdoor enthusiasts!! June was easy to contact and available for concerns. We will never forget our first Family Vacation in the Cabin on Broad River :)

The perfect hiking get away...

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to hike on the Appalachian Trail in Hot Springs, NC...but didn't really want to stay in Hot Springs...we found this perfectly private cabin near the French Broad River. It was perfect! Very clean and cozy! It was about a 30 minute drive to Hot Springs and we hiked 2 days in a row...North bound one day then South bound the next. There is nothing better than a HOT TUB after a long hard hike and their hot tub did not disappoint! The cabin is about a 10 minute drive to all the amenities you will need but still very private. The cabin sits high up on a hill and the view was awesome!

Nice Cozy Cabin with No Frills

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a rustic cabin to unplug - look no further. That is exactly what my wife and I wanted to do after our wedding and that is exactly what we got in this place. It is close enough to Asheville (about 15 minutes to downtown) so you can go explore the city, but also remote enough that you can forget the rest of the world if you would like to. It is near to many of the trails and streams that the Appalachians are known for. It is exactly what you would expect a cabin in the woods to feel like.

Make sure your car has 4x4 and listen to the owner's advice about the drive up. It can be quite steep and my wife found it a little scary (I didnt think it was that bad). I had no problem negotiating the curves and bends in our large SUV. The drive is what really makes this place feel remote. Make sure you purchase your own firewood before you go up.

The kitchen is small but functional and we found the beds to be comfortable. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. If you start bringing many more people, I could see this place feeling small very fast. There is a washer and dryer and all of the linens are provided. We stopped at a grocery store (about 5 minutes away) and were able to get everything else that we needed. The porch has great views of the French Broad River. The hot tub right off the house is great to relax in after a long day hiking the nearby trails.

My wife and I loved our stay and would come back again in a heartbeat. If anything - its location is a GREAT jumping off point for anything in Asheville or the surrounding mountains.
