Excellent Ski Chalet

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a perfect location within the woods, plenty of privacy and real holiday charm. There is ample space for 13 people, the living room especially is perfect for late night tea around the fireplace with friends. Killington slopes are about 20min away, but the scenic drive goes very fast. I would recommend the well equipped house with an incredible hot tub outside to everyone! Thanks again Dan for a wonderful stay!

If you love the woods like we do then you'll love it!

  • 5 of 5

We did have a few issues with the internet which was never fully resolved but then we came as a family and decided not to worry as we were there for family fun! There's a few good restaurants around and there's a cool spot for the kids to jump in the river or for tubing down.

The place was nice and fit everyone beautifully! The hot tub was a nice bonus. :)

Beautiful Home Nestled up high in the Mountainside

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed at Dan and Anna's Stockbridge home for 3 days leading into a wedding weekend at Riverside Farm down in Pittsfield. This home was everything a group of friends could possibly want from a vacation rental; enough bedrooms for everyone to have their own space, an updated and well-appointed kitchen for cooking a few homemade meals, a hot tub for post-hike relaxing, and loads of windows and fans to create a nice cross-breeze of fresh mountain air. The living room was stocked with board games, a sounddock, cards, books and movies - you won't miss the fact that there's no cable.

We chose the location because of its proximity to the wedding we were attending, but quickly realized that there's so much more to do in the area - you're a 2 minute drive to river tubing, 5 minutes to the general store, 20 to Killington, 30 to Long Trail Brewing, and only an hour from Stowe (a side day trip we took after checking out of the house). Dan provided information about local grocery stores (which aren't really local, I'd suggest doing a grocery run before checking in), but was really pleased with the selection at the little market/post office on 100 in Pittsfield.

Dan was really easy to communicate with leading into our trip, he responded to questions with immediacy and was more than happy to provide local recommendations during our stay.

I'm not sure that all of my friends are so into mountain-life that they would be quick to go back again, but my fiancé and I were so happy with our stay that we're already trying to get a group together to go back up next summer.

If you're looking for a secluded getaway to relax and enjoy nature, this house nestled in the mountainside and surrounded by lush forest is absolutely the way to go, you won't be disappointed!

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 12 thoroughly enjoyed our time. The hot tub was a hit, and fireplace kept us warm. It was nice that the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, etc. Also plenty of basic condiments. The owner was very helpful with tips for using things around the house. WiFi didn't work at first but the directions for fixing it were easy to follow and once it was working, we had no other issues with it. While on the mountain, due to weather, the house lost power but there's a great system involved. We were contacted immediately to let us know and quickly found out when the power would be restored. That was much appreciated. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax even with 12 of us. Overall a great time in a beautiful home.

Fantastic house for a large group (But make sure you have 4WD in winter)

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful house. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and a large table that can seat everyone staying. Fireplace is wonderful as well.

If you're staying in winter, having 4WD is probably necessary to get here. The park and ride about a mile away is convenient for those who don't have it though.

We would definitely rent this house again for a ski weekend. Thanks!
