Lakota Cottage is nestled on nearly 5 acres bordered by Active Year-round Stream, Stone Walls, Open Fields, Woodlands and a lovely view of the Pomfret Hills. Conveniently located in Central Vermont, we are positioned 7 miles north of Woodstock Village just before Silver Lake and the Barnard Country Store. Our home sits off a safe scenic dirt road just past the Doton Dairy Farm surrounded by large Private Estates. We are just a few minutes to Suicide Six, and a short drive to Killington and a bit further to Sugarbush, Mad River Glen and Stowe ski areas.
Our home is comfortable, well equipped, recently painted, easy to maintain and a pleasure to enjoy alone or with family & friends.
Add paragraph 1:
We are Boston based Interior Designers. This is our much loved weekend getaway. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. It is large enough for a group of friends, yet cozy enough for a couple or small family. We are in a lovely and desirable location, close to the town of Woodstock, and village of Barnard. We deliver a clean and well maintained home for your enjoyment and comfort. There is NO Internet, and no cell coverage. We can add Internet for long term renters. Cell coverage up-the-hill (hike or drive), or in either village. There is a landline.
There is a wonderful fire pit for late night smores and stories.
The covered porch with a gas grill for dining al fresco.
Games/TV room for kids with a games/puzzle closet, PS3 and Wii. Satellite TV, DVR etc. Foosball table in the basement. And Sleds for the best sledding hill around.
We stayed one week at Lakota cottage and we just loved it! There was plenty of space for us and our children! They LOVED using the 'triple' sled and sledding down the hill - they spent hours doing that! It was great not to have distraction of phones or internet! House is equipped with plenty of games and things to do. Kitchen very well stocked and had everything we needed! Lots of activities close by - we were skiing at killington - 40 minutes away - Woodstock is gorgeous! Worth a visit is sugarbush farm for the delicious cheese and maple syrup and Simon Pearce glass blowing was fantastic! Restaurants - cloudland farm was fantastic, Barnard inn as per tony and Hilary's recommendation was great and ramuntos pizza at Bridgewater mill was awesome!!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back - summer this time! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house!!!
Our family loves staying in this house. We go in the winter and they have a sledding hill that goes down to a wooded stream. A very lovely bit of land. The home is clean and well cared for. The fire place is delightful.
This was my second time spending a Christmas here. Such a charming spot in the woods of Vermont! House is cozy and warm, which makes the holiday that much better.
The location is perfect with easy access to Killington and downtown Woodstock. Tony mentioned that we should eat at the Barnard Inn, which had to be one of the best meals ever. The road that the home is located on is great for hiking and running - quite the workout!
I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to "get away from it all" while also wanting easy access to Vermont's finest!
This is a special place, absolutely idyllic ! A precious house, smartly decorated, with every necessity: comfortable furniture and beds, fresh and clean new bathrooms, cozy kitchen, and lovely porch and deck. And if that isn't enough, add mountain views and a wildflower meadow with a path leading to a babbling brook! Great restaurants nearby and loads of things to do as well as crashing with a good book on the beautiful rolling lawn. Loved it!
This location and setting has everything one could ask for to get away and relax. Beautiful setting, easy location, and all the comforts you need. Nature at its best. Tastefully decorated. A place to enjoy every season of the year. Highly recommend!
We had a great time at Lakota Cottage - it was perfect for us. It's convenient to everything in the Woodstock area. The furnishings are comfortable and the style restrained country. The beds were quite comfortable, so everybody slept well. We were very impressed with how useable and well provisioned the kitchen is. It is small, but it lacks nothing essential for the serious cook - we ate very well indeed. The only thing we lacked was cell service (is this a blessing or a curse!!?!). We enjoyed ourselves very much non-the-less! Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us.
