Why Cynthia chose Downtown
When Cynthia was looking to purchase a home in Santa Fe, her main objective was to buy a residence in downtown Santa Fe, and with a guesthouse that could be converted to a vacation rental. The downtown area of the city is uniquely special and offers so many possibilitites for visitors. In the 20 years she has owned the property, she has remnodeled both the main house and the guesthouse with comfort and privacy in mind, and including a contemporary flair.
What makes this Cottage unique
McKenzie House is located smack-dab in the middle of the city, in the historic Staab Street neighborhood. The famed Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is one block to the south; the Convention Center 1/2 block to the east. Endless shopping, restaurants and cultural sites are literally outside the door, so visitors to McKenzie House can park the car in their private driveway and walk to all the events and asssets of the downtown area, including Indian Market.Attending the Santa Fe Opera? It is just 10 minutes away and just to our north. The casita itself is private and extremely comfortable, including an outside hottub with a private deck, so after those long, enjoyable days in our the city, guests can retreat to their own freestanding, private casita and relax. What could be better!

Great location - practical for two on the move
Nice clean place. Maybe not the most private as the homeowner lives right next to this guest house, but well kept, clean, and practical. Most importantly it is very close to all activities in town.
Thank you for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Indeed I am located in a prime downtown Santa Fe spot! Although my casita is adjacent to my main home, I respect the privacy of guests and have provided separate drive/ parking, entry, patio and hot tub for exclusive use.
Small but Nice
Great location and clean but a little small. Had trouble with 2 suitcases.
Get Away to Santa Fe
Very nice place to stay. It is quiet and secure. The accommodations are comfortable, well appointed and welcoming. Cynthia was really easy to contact and our arrival and stay experience was really great. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Cynthia for the use of your casita during our mini-vacay.
Thank you Evelyn! Please let me know if you plan another visit!
Walking distance to so much! Hot tub was a bonus. Very clean and comfortable.
MeKenzie house in July.
The place is located in the most perfect spot for access to the Plaza and O’Keefe Museum etc.
The owners need to seriously consider a new mattress for the bed.
We will return, however, and enjoy the garden and quiet and aura of Santa Fe.
Thanks Paula, I appreciate your review and glad you enjoyed your stay. As a routine maintenance and upgrade, we have just received a brand new pillow topper, replacing the one previously on the bed. Like heaven! We look forward to your return!
Perfect location, quiet, and the owner of the studio was accommodating
While my friends and family stayed in hotels for a wedding, I loved having my quiet and privacy with this perfectly located studio.
