The Victorian Mansion featured is located in downtown Newport with just a short walk to the mansions, Thames Street, Easton's Beach or Cliff Walk. Just one block off Bellevue Ave, we are located in the old historic hill of Newport. You will be right in the center of the island's major attractions. If you are a history buff, nature lover, gardener or antiques, you will appreciate this home for its beauty and sophistication. It is great for large groups who need multiple bathrooms and bedrooms. The Victorian House is a smaller house 1800 sq feet located off historic Broadway which is the more hipster side of Newport. It is a small three bedroom and 2.5 bathroom home but if you don't mind sharing bedrooms it is great for bachelorette parties or intimate families. Can sleep 10-12 people maximum.
We also have a studio apartment with a queen bed that is great for a weekly rental for two.

I chose Newport to live because it the only place in the world that has everything. It is an island in New England so it has four seasons but the seasons are mild. Newport is a busy, bustling city in the summer time but in the winter it is a quaint New England village. Rhode Island has over 400 miles of pure sand beaches with pristine, clean waters. You will see the air is fresh and the sounds are freshing. Newport is a fantastic walking and biking city. For years when I first moved here, I never even owned a car. I just walked everywhere because it was so easy. The locals range from your average, boat-builder 'Joe' to the yuppy, billionaire 'Winston'. The conversations you will have when you sit down at the docks or in one of the many local bars is just unbelievable. It feels like a European town. You will notice how many people are trim and healthy. People dress nicely and treat everyone with respect. Newport is out of this world.
The greatest thing is our location is perfect. You can ask anyone who lives in Newport and they will all say that our neighborhood is the most ideal location. It is a relaxing, safe, quiet residential street filled with big, old, early Victorian mansions, yet it is an easy walk to either side of the island. We are located right in the center of Newport. In a jiffy, I can walk to the beach for a healthy jog on Cliffwalk in the morning or I can just as quickly stroll down to Thames Street for a delicous dinner at a wine bar. It is safe and secure so it comfortable to walk home at night from the nightclubs and bars.
The house itself is a masterpiece. It is 99% genuine antiques from the Gilden Age of Newport. The architect built it as a summer home so it requires very little air conditioning in the summer to keep it comfortable. The bannisters and crown moldings are just exquiste. The rooms are terrific. The yard is completely screened in with natural scrubs and trees providing a private space to decompress. You will feel so at home when you are here, sipping wine on the verandah watching the birds, rabbits and squirrels.
We rented the Inn Bliss for a girl's weekend in August. Nick was very accommodating to our arrival time, as most of our party could not arrive until later in the evening. Each one of us had our own bed, which was nicely made up with sheets, pillow cases and blankets! We also each had a towel set to use for the weekend. We didn't have to pack any linens- it was great! The entire house has AC, which was a pleasant surprise upon our arrival. It definitely made sleeping very comfortable! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishware, etc- everything you could ever need is provided!
Upon arrival, Nick showed two of us around the entire house. He made sure we knew how everything worked. He even sat with us and explained a map of the area, suggesting things to do and places to go for the weekend. There was even a plate of home made chocolate chip cookies upon arrival :)
There was an issue with the mail delivery and Nick receiving my check. Long story short, my check got lost in the mail, and Nick even covered the $30 stop fee I was charged from my bank!
Nick was accessible by phone the entire weekend. We happened to blow a fuse. I texted Nick, and he responded quickly telling me how to fix the problem. Power was restored!
Thanks for a great weekend!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this elegant home. The entrance was warm and inviting, the living and dining rooms were comfortable and maintained with the grace and style of the late 1800’s. Breakfast was delicious and well served. But most of all, the service related to our reservation with late arrival and timely breakfast allowed us to begin our day on schedule. The process was smooth and convenient. In the evening we were able to walk to downtown Newport to enjoy the sights, shops and restaurants. Then we walked back to the quiet neighborhood for a relaxing rest. Great job! I would definitely stay there again!
The Inn was gorgeous. The room was charming. The decor was lovely. We loved the fireplace near the bed! It made for a very romantic evening. The location was great. It was close to restaurants and other attractions. The Inn keeper's recommendations of restaurants and nightlife was knowledgable and very helpful. The minor problems with towels and water were addressed within minutes. I was surprised that breakfast was not included in the room rate. Even so, I recommend this historic Newport Inn.
My girlfriend and I came here for a weekend getaway and can't say enough good things about this place; the building is beautifully maintained and a short walk from just about everything in Newport. Service was stellar, and the breakfast the next morning was fantastic. We weren't able to meet Nick, but Brian was a fantastic host, and made us feel truly welcome. If you're looking for a stellar bed and breakfast in Newport, this is it!
After a 5 and a half hour drive in traffic from New York, we were in a sour mood. This mood was immediately erased by the quaintness and beauty of the architect inn. Nick and Brian were extremely welcoming hosts and it was a pleasure to share our meals with them and the other guests of the Inn. Not only were they fantastic proprietors, they batted 1000 when it came to recommendations for things to do. I highly recommend asking for the redwood room. The room was extremely cozy and the bed was very comfortable. We have every intention of returning to the inn.
We just spent three nights at the Architects Inn and we will be returning! This place has it all! Perfect location, great hospitality, and beautiful, cozy rooms! The breakfasts were plentiful, original and perfectly prepared; you will not be disappointed! Nick and Brian are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to ensure you're stay is comfortable and fulfilling. They are very aware of what Newport has to offer and will point out the best places for you to spend your vacation. Overall, staying at the Architects Inn made our vacation absolutely perfect and I recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Newport area!
