Very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. It would be cramped with more people. Kitchen could have used some larger fryng pans. The largest pan was only 8 inches. We cooked each night it was a challenge using the small pan. Plenty of dishes and flatware. Beds were very comfortable.

Owner's Response: We thank you for your input. On our last trip to the cabin we supplied the kitchen with additional pots and pans to eliminate the challenge of cooking with inadequate cookware

'The Other Place"

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is well-kept and every thing worked. Directions to the cabin were excellent. It was located in a beautiful setting. My son and his family joined us and it was a wonderful place to relax, visit, and play some games. The hot tub was a plus. The cabin is close to Bryson City which we found to be a very nice town with friendly people.

Critters Everywhere July 2014

  • 1 of 5

We were a family of 4 with 2 dogs and based on past reviews, we were looking forward to the trip. Once my family arrived, the air conditioning was not working and it was over 80 degrees inside with the windows open. This was only the beginning. Later we discovered that there we ants in the bathroom, on the kitchen counters and ants and roaches under the sink. The next morning we woke us to discover that a lot of the food we had brought had been eaten by mice. There were mouse droppings on the counters and in the food. We tried to fix breakfast with what we had only to discover the pots and pans also had mouse droppings. The only reason that we would give this one star is because we have to.

Super cabin w/ lots of privacy and charm!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on July 24, 2015 for a 3 day weekend and we were surprised at how nice this cabin is. Being our first cabin experience we thought it might not have such great amenities but we were in for an experience like non other. This cabin is in a perfect location for privacy with no traffic on the private road, it has very large bedrooms and the back deck is a perfect spot for outdoor dining. The hot tub is amazing after a long day hiking the local trails. The cabin was super clean and the beds are very comfortable which is always a plus. The bathrooms were all equipped nicely with toiletries as well as plenty of towels for showering. The kitchen is fully equipped with enough dishes for the entire family. My family is eager to plan another get away and we know this is where we will be staying every time we get the chance. The owner is such a pleasure to work with and he made sure our stay was more than we asked for. I appreciate your time in helping us get setup this past weekend and I want to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. It truly was an amazing experience. Thank you Ray. We hope to be back again soon.

Rustic luxuries

  • 5 of 5

We were three couples and two dogs who missed each other and wanted to meet-up for a four day weekend in a beautiful, comfy, country place to visit with one another and do much, much cooking. A LOT of cooking.

The ride in from town to this cabin is a neat route. Scenic and curvy and a really quick trip. Miles are different in the country where there are wild flowers, wildlife, waterways and mountains to see. Things get a little slower and one country mile sort of equals 10 regular miles. The conveniences of town, including the crucial Ingles grocery store are only one country mile away from this cabin. A sweet little ride. You could probably rappel from the cabin to Ingles if you're a daredevil, though. Very easy access to town. We three couples and two dogs didn't want to go back and forth to town, though. We wanted to cook good food, hang out and not leave....which we did and which brings me to the kitchen.

That kitchen is compact yet cavernous. I know it looks small, and it is, you can totally load the dishwasher with one hand and make gravy with the other...( a good thing), but..we decided to make one huge grocery shop for the long weekend and not go back to town. We did it. We stowed two brimming Ingles grocery buggies worth of food and supplies in that deceptively small looking kitchen. That kitchen can handle all of your groceries and supplies! The cabin was well stocked, too. No need to bring any kitchen tools from home. Can openers, canisters, colanders, they got it. Cooking vessels....all that. We only brought our cast iron and knives and boards. We planned to cook and the cooking was easy in that kitchen. Everything was ready and clean to stow away our stuff. And everything was gleaming....

Oh! That brings me to the clean part. I don't want to write a redundant review, but yessssss... That little cabin was shiny clean. Like NASA space shuttle clean. So when I or any of the other reviewers say that the cabin is clean, ya'll believe it. Bathrooms, kitchens, even wood...just gleaming clean. It's the first thing I noticed when I cracked the front door and stuck my head in: shiny clean and as fresh as a daisy. That and the beautiful structure and wood.

This is a great cabin not only in its beauty, but its form and function. I loved the staircase going to the upper was pretty and tough. I loved the sweet touches of vintage, country, comfy and rustic all over the place. One look at that snuggly little living r
