North Truro Cottage Rental Photos and Description

You said waterfront! We've got it. Patti Page stood here when she sang of sand dunes, salty air and sunsets over Cape Cod Bay. Our one bedroom cottage will sleep four with double bed and sofa bed.

Swimming, boating and fishing located within 20 feet of your private deck. Spectacular sunsets with panoramic views of Cape Cod Bay, Long Point lighthouse and Provincetown Harbor. Wake to the sound of waves and seagulls. Close to Cape Cod National Seashore, sand dunes, ocean beaches and bicycle trails. Walk to nearby shuttle bus for Provincetown where you will find fine dining, shopping, whale watching, dune tours, deep sea fishing and schooner sailing. Only five minutes by private car into town.

Best vacation we ever had!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we simply fell in love with the cottage we rented. Many rentals advertise themselves as being "steps" from the beach, but this cottage literally is on the beach! It has its own private porch which becomes part of the larger boardwalk, with steps down to the beach. We loved sunbathing on the porch and then just stepping down to the ocean to cool off whenever we wanted. At night, we would take advantage of the grill and just relax on the porch and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We had planned on doing lots of exploring, but to tell you the truth, we never even wanted to leave our cottage! It's located only about five minutes from a grocery store, which was great, and about a ten minute drive into Provincetown, which in our opinion was the perfect distance...close, but not too close. We loved going into town to enjoy whale watches, ice cream, and the sights and shows that are Ptown. The cottage itself is perfect for two, and has every ammenity you could need during a brief stay (including coffee maker!). It was nice to have a DVD player as well, so during rainy days we could watch our DVDs. It was incredibly clean and well maintained. There is absolutely nothing we would change about it! In fact, we're hoping to go back next year!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this rental to a couple or single looking for a relaxing Cape vacation.

Cutest cottage ever!

  • 5 of 5

As a family of 4 we had a wonderful time staying in this cottage. The futon was very comfortable to sleep on and perfect with the evening breeze. We really lucked out and had almost no rain the entire week so we spent a lot of time on the beach swimming and fishing or playing Yahtzee on the deck. One night was extra buggy outside due to extreme heat and humidity and we were very comfortable sitting around the table inside instead. The grill has a side burner so any cooking was able to be done outside instead of heating up the cottage. Very convenient! I would recommend this cottage to friends and family.

My husband and I have stayed here for two years during our anniversary. The owners are flexible and so easy to work with. This place is incredibly gorgeous and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the cape!

Uptight Owners

  • 3 of 5

We stayed at this cottage twice, in the summer of 2010 and 2011. Both times we really enjoyed the cottage and were sorry we could not rent again. On our last day we were interupted by the owner while trying to pack. She engaged us in conversation and asked us to help get her bedcovers. We were on a tight schedal and needed to leave. She followed us around the cottage asking us if things were ours, and if we were leaving things. Needless to say we were distracted and did leave a few small groceries. We recieved a letter with our cleaning deposit the next week with instructions on how we could better clean her cottage next time we were there.

The cottage is cute but you cannot use the toilet comfortably, your knees hit the door. The shower is too small and water spills out all over the bathroom floor. There is a bad condensation problem on the sliding doors so you need to mop a puddle up the morning. Somebody smokes in the cottage, there are ashtrays in the cupboard and when you mop the floor you smell nicotine. The coffee pot is from the 50s and is a nightmare to get good coffe from. We had to purchase a press. The bathroom floor was none to clean when we got there either. The deck gets really windy on some days and you can't sit out there if it is.

I would not be so nit picky but the owner sent me a letter about a veggie left on the grill. We work really hard for our money and are responsible, resonable people. We had no parties and there was no damage done to her property. We left it reasonably clean and probably would have left it cleaner but she interupted our packing and tidying up. We felt awful when we got her letter. Her attitude spoiled our pleasure in staying there. We would rather she had charged us a cleaning fee than send us such a shaming and thoughtless note. One of the neighbors had a problem with my toddler son stepping on her deck too. New Englanders are famouse for being hard but really.. We were repeat customers and caused no problems. That is not how you treat people. We are going back to the same beach this year, but not this cottage.

Owner's Response: We hope this reviewer will enjoy their next experience on Cape Cod. In nine years of renting our cottage every summer this was the ONLY letter we have ever been forced to write to tenants regarding the condition the cottage was left in. There were more issues than "a veggie on the grill". Most of our tenants are returning renters every summer and we are very grateful and appreciative of their loyal patronage. No smoking is allowed in our cottage and the 1995 Revere stainless steele percolator coffee pot has been a favorite of our many returning tenants who have been sure to comment on how wonderful the fresh coffee has been each morning on the deck overlooking the bay. The bathroom is small but it is the same standard size as are most of the cottage bathrooms in our complex and did not change from 2010 to 2011. Please note the date of this review is January 2013 and their stays were in 2010 and 2011. We receive many compliments on the decor and cleanliness of the cottage as previous reviews testify. Our only explanation for this review two years later may lie in the reviewer's own words, "Both times we really enjoyed the cottage and were sorry we could not rent again."

Wonderful cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in North Truro. The view to Provincetown was spectacular (especially the sunsets!). It is located right on the water, and although a little breezy at times, it was comforable. The cottage was decorated beautifully and furnished well. We had a chance to meet the owners, get a history of the cottage, and they gave us ideas of things to do in the area. If you are a larger person, the small shower might be a little tight. We definitely would recommend this property for a wonderful vacation week, whether you want to do some sightseeing, or just lounge at the cottage to relax!
