I am from Green bay Wisconsin and went to University of Minnesota Twin Cities-and loved the area so much I never left! An avid runner and hiker, I love all things outdoors! Writing and advertising were my previous career ventures before becoming a vacation rental host full time. I also loves any excuse to travel :)
Rachael purchased this Apartment in 2010
Why Rachael chose Payne - Phalen
You'll love the coziness, comfy beds, fast wifi and cable TV. It is the bottom left unit, as the home has 4 units-each with separate entries and private from each other. With a grill and outdoor seating, a full kitchen for entertaining, and spacious living room for hanging out, my St. Paul home is a perfect place for your next trip to the Twin Cities!
What makes this Apartment unique
The open living area and cozy charm make this a great home away from home. Previous guests mention that they especially appreciate fast wifi, clean linens, and the cable TV.

Wish I could stay longer
Everything was top notch. The place was not only very clean, but decorated tastefully and everything we needed was on hand. The hosts were thorough with communication without hovering. 8n fact we never met in person. But I prefer that style. I enjoy my independence.
The property was an excellent location for our stay.
Nice little apartment
Upon arrival the check in process was super simple with electronic locks. This ensured no keeping track of keys etc all weekend. Apartment was nice and did the trick for the weekend. Property owner is fantastic to deal with.
Comfy and Cozy
Rachael was a great host. If you had any questions she was prompt at getting back to you. The beds were comfortable.
For the most part it was fine. Good parking quiet neighborhood. The first day we had no heat but it didn't really get that cold so it wasn't a huge issue. Second day we couldn't get any programming on the cable box but there was a DVD player so again not a huge issue. The location is in close proximity to a lot of things to do. I probably would stay again.
just what we needed
it was roomy, comfortable, clean and had little extras... toiletries, condiments, coffee, etc.
a good base from which to explore the Twin Cities.
Thanks so much for the lovely review Paul! I strive to make each guest feel comfort and luxury upon entering the home and Im so glad you loved enough to return! Take care and thanks again!
You’ll find some of the city’s best flavors on the East Side—come hungry! From the Korean inspired influences at Cook St. Paul to the try-it-all teaser flights at Tongue in Cheek. From locally roasted coffee with a side of vinyl at Caydence Records and Coffee to grass fed steak and decadently creative plates at The Strip Club Meat & Fish. From a neighborhood favorite pub, Ward 6, to local craft beers at Flat Earth Taproom and Sidhe Brewing Company, you’ll want to try them all.
Indian Mounds Regional Park is home to six Native American burial mounds high atop 450 million-year-old limestone and sandstone bluffs overlooking downtown Saint Paul. Lake Phalen offers golf, swimming and year-round trails. The Dragon Festival in July celebrates the diverse Asian Pacific heritage found here with performance, ethnic foods and dragon boat races.
