Grateful to Stay here, we're coming back! Planning our next vacation, so much to enjoy in this area!
Appreciation to our hosts at "Shepherd's Rest" for being attentive to questions & providing a peaceful & restorative atmosphere where we relaxed after days of nearby adventures to the Redwoods, Sea, museums, food & shops. Inside charming dwelling was very modern & spacious with appliances & considerate amenities around every corner! + Grill outside. We cherished the animals & fell in love with the vast grounds where we sat out to see the Milky Way & Stars. Hosts thought of everything!
Amazing, quiet and clean cottage on a working farm! Owners extremely friendly yet respectful of privacy, and photos/description of property does not do it justice. Tucked off the main road, very clean and nicely-appointed cottage with all amenities. Fun being in the middle of a farm with sheep, chickens, vegetable gardens, etc., yet extremely quiet.
We had a great stay! The cottage is super clean, with all the amenities you'll need. Bed is really comfy. Farm was very enjoyable, sheep are cute and it's fun to watch them graze and wonder around. Very peaceful setting. Feels like you are miles away, but you are only about 5 min away from downtown Arcata. Awesome location, and we can't wait to come back!
Great place to relax
We stayed here for a couple nights in July while visiting the Redwoods NP. It was a bit of a drive to the parks, but not a problem. The space was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Having a full washer and dryer proved invaluable for our trip, as this was the 1st of 3 stops on our trip thru the state. The sheep were amusing, not smelly so don't worry about that. Comfy bed, extra towels, local coffee, fresh flowers, plenty of cookware. Top Notch!
Great little place
This was one of the best properties we have stayed at. It looks like they took an old outbuilding and turned it into something perfect. Very well thought out and well provisioned. Great value, great place.
It was a wonderful and peaceful place to stay!
