Country living at its best!
Charming country home with a beautiful view of the horses at pasture and Hampshire pigs (Bentley & Tonka) roaming the lands. My grandson and niece loved every moment there & so did the grown ups! Can’t wait for our next trip back for R & R.
We stayed here with our two small sons (almost 5 and almost 3) and had the best time! The property is beautiful and serene, and the house was perfect. We did several day trips and hung out in Woodbury a couple of days as well - always something to do no matter your level of ambition or activity. Looking at the horses and feeding the pigs in the mornings was such a treat. Stephanie was super - very responsive and helpful when we had questions. We already miss it!
Perfect relaxing visit
My 7 year old actually chose this out of a few choices for mother’s day weekend. All because he wanted to meet the pigs! The weather was not great , but the pigs totally made the stay memorable!
Stephanie is great to deal with. Thoughtful, friendly and flexible.
The house and property are beautiful! Just a great visit and we hope to go back.
It was a pleasure to have you. And we love having repeat guests! We like to think of our visitors as friends and family. Till we meet again. Happy Spring.
Our favorite place to be!!!
This is our second visit to Terrell House in the last year and we just love it so much! It truly is the most quaint, quiet, relaxing getaway. If you like country charm, you'll want to plan a visit! From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed with the obvious time and effort Stephanie, the owner, puts into this home for her guests. It feels as if you're walking into someone's home, not a rental where you wonder where everything is and if they have it. All the essentials for your stay are provided. From extra plush towels, to plenty of clean bed sheets, to a fully stocked kitchen to a small tray of cookies on the counter from a local bakery to welcome you for your visit. Our daughter can't get enough of Tonka and Bentley, the two pot-bellied pigs that roam the property and even come to the house once in a while to say hello. They're super friendly and love to be petted! The horses, ponies and donkey at the farm are just an added bonus! All the furniture in Terrell House is for sale. The profits from the sale of the furniture go towards Equine Rescue, something Stephanie is passionate about, so how can you not want to visit? It's quiet, and far away enough from the highway that you don't realize you're just 10 minutes away from the closest supermarket and just 45 minutes away from the Bridgeport Ferry. Charming diners and eateries on Main Street are just minutes away. Stephanie puts a great deal of effort into making your stay wonderful. We will definitely come back for a third visit!! Already looking at my calendar!
Great stay and Bentley the pig was a bit hit with the family!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful setting. We loved seeing the horses in the fields. The house is cozy and comfortable. Our two dogs loved playing frisbee and ball in the large, open field behind the house. Each day, we would a different neighboring towns in Litchfield County. The location of the house made these adventures quite easy and convenient. The countryside in that area is quite beautiful. There are plenty of hikes/ walks near the house as well, which is great for dogs.
Stephanie was a great host and welcomed us in person the night we arrived. She even had some very tasty pastries/ cookies waiting for us from Ovens of France, which is located right in Middlebury. Middlebury is a very short drive and has lots of good restaurants and a really nice grocery store to stock up on whatever you might need for your stay. Our favorite restaurant was John's Cafe.
We offer just a bit of constructive criticism. The kitchen could use a bit more in regards to equipment, such as a few real cooking knives, a liquid measuring cup, some more mixing bowls, and a few more pots and pans. Also, be careful when turning on the water in the tub upstairs. The water pressure is very high, which is nice, but causes the shower attachment to fall off of its perch.
Again, we had a really nice stay and would recommend this property.
