About Sarah and Marc
We, Marc and Sarah, have been enjoying the North Shore for years. The parks, waterfalls, scenery, and trails have been a highlight for many of our vacations. We have a huge passion for log homes, after building two ourselves, so were excited to find Split Rock Log Cabin to be a base for our adventures. We look forward to sharing it with you! We live in Wisconsin in the first log home that we built. We love living in the Midwest and enjoy the many activities the different seasons bring. Marc grew up in Canada and Sarah in Wisconsin. We recently adopted a beautiful boy born in April of 2018 and currently have a dog and 2 cats. Besides log building we enjoy gardening, making maple syrup, cutting wood, wood projects, hiking, camping, Alaska fishing, many outdoor activities and occasional traveling.
Sarah and Marc purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Sarah and Marc chose Two Harbors
We love this property! We always feel relaxed as soon as we pull in the driveway. The large white pine and other trees around make it feel so private and peaceful. The view of the lake is beautiful and framed by the tall pines. The cabin itself is well built, spacious, and, again, calming to walk into. It is like our home away from home but with no extra work to do! We are so happy we found it.
What makes this Cabin unique
Right outside of the city limits of Beaver Bay, it is very conveniently located for restaurants. The Gitche Gami trail is a great bonus as well as the Superior Hiking Trail. The close proximity to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park and other State Parks along the shore is also perfect.

Our stay at Sarah and Marc’s cabin exceeded our expectations. Sarah responded promptly to all my question and the cabin itself was very cozy and welcoming! My parents flew from South Korea and they were so happy they got to experience the Minnesotan fall. Drinking coffee on the deck watching the sun rise out on the Lake Superior was the highlight of our stay!
Thank you! So glad you all enjoyed it!
Perfect North Shore Getaway
We were welcomed by a beautiful, clean cabin with great views of the lake and trees all around. We can't say enough about how much we loved our stay! The pictures are beautiful, but even better in person!
Warm and welcoming.
Wonderful peaceful place. I would recommend this place to family and friends.
Extended weekend away
What a perfect getaway. We were away from it all yet so close to so many fun things to do. The cabin had everything we needed. We had quick response to any questions or concerns.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Relaxing in nature
It was quiet, beautiful nature surroundings, and could see sunrise over lake. Cabin was very open inside and large windows so you could enjoy nature from inside as well no matter where you were in the cabin. Deck off the living room was great if you had children as they could go out there and be safe as no steps for them to run down.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful Cabin in the Woods - Beautiful view of Lake Superior
