A slice of heaven

Where to begin when describing perfection? Beautiful, high end home in magical surroundings. Everything you need at your fingertips, fully stocked and a welcome basket that fed us fruit picked from their garden for 3 days! Ocean on 3 sides of the home and 2 blocks away. We truly felt as though this was our "forever home". Property owners were so very gracious and incredibly helpful.

Short walk to kayaking and snorkeling

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. It was exactly what we wanted. We had been to Captain Cook monument before and wanted a house close by to chill out. This place was perfect for that. The master bedroom is very spacious with near 270 degree views. Kayak rentals were visible from the balcony. We spent a lot of time snorkeling Captain Cook and Two Steps. Lot's of fun. Would do it again.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

The location of this property cannot be beat. We stayed 4 nights with another couple from Honolulu. The four of us are active people and this place has it all. A quick walk over to the bay where we kayaked, snorkeled, scuba dived and hiked. Capt. Cook is like an aquarium, with healthy coral and a plethora of colorful fish. On an early morning walk we even saw a pod of dolphins in the distance. The house itself is lovely: simple and casual but with everything you might need. We took full advantage of the well-equipped kitchen and made some delicious meals every night. The owners had left some welcoming fruit and coffee for our arrival, a very nice touch. We had dinner on the lanai (for those who don't want to deal with bugs, you have the option of eating inside.) The bathrooms are all updated and clean, and there's even an outdoor shower where you can wash off after a dip in the ocean. There are also hoses to rinse off scuba equipment downstairs. Very convenient. Yes, there is vog in the area right now, but it never really bothered us. It's just part of life on the Big Island. You just have to embrace it!!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, modern, and well appointed. We went snorkeling every day, and loved that it was a mini walk to the water. The gardens were beautiful. Our family enjoyed the tour of the owners organic farm. Elizabeth and Steve are warm, kind, and generous. We look forward to coming back!

A wonderful week in Hawaii

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at Manini House. The house and kitchen is incredibly well equipped. Everything we could have asked for was there, including a welcome basket of fresh fruit and coffee grown and roasted by the owner!

The first night we woke up to the sound of crashing waves, but we soon got used to that. Access to the water is a few steps away, as is a kayak rental for a trip across K bay to the Cook monument and incredible snorkeling.

Highly recomended. We hope to go back soon...

Owner's Response: Aloha Richard and family! I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Manini Point House and it was wonderful for Steve and Shannon and Serena to meet you during the farm tour. I hope to meet you on your return visit. Glad that it worked out so well for your family to enjoy the Keoua Canoe Club's 37th Annual Macathon! It is always held the Saturday before Easter, so maybe next year? :) Thank you so much, once again for your stay at Manini Point House and for this lovely review. Your family members were wonderful guests. Steve and Elizabeth

Wonderful place by Kealakekua Bay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and friends really enjoyed our time at Manini Point House. We arrived needing some deep relaxation but also some fun adventure - and we found both at the house and in the bay just steps away. Each morning, we were awake for the sunrise coming over the mountain, lighting up the bay. Often, we were in the water, swimming by 7:30am. -- sometimes with dolphins! Days were spent out exploring the bay by SUP, snorkeling at Manini and 2-Step nearby (turtles and so many tropical fish), taking leisurely walks through the neighborhood, or (only rarely) getting in our car to visit town or another area of the island. Evenings we visited with our friends at the house, watching gorgeous sunsets over the water, preparing delicious, fresh meals in a large, very well-appointed kitchen, and enjoying a leisurely meal together on the lanai.

Situated in a little neighborhood that's home to both residents and visitors, the house offers a comfortable home base. The house and back yard are clean and well care for. Rooms are spacious with bright light, beautiful art, hardwoods and marble throughout. The owners, Steve and Elizabeth, who live on a farm nearby, are highly responsive and very kind.
