About Carl and Leslie Haggar
Carl and Leslie Haggar have lived in East Glacier for over forty years. They love hiking in Glacier Park in the summer and skiing the nearby mountain trails in the winter. Carl is also an avid fisherman and hunter, and loves to share his stories about recreating in this beautiful country. They built a successful woodworking business, manufacturing wooden kitchen products, such as bread knives, cutting boards, and recipe boxes. They have since sold the business, but Carl continues to put his woodworking skills to work by creating cabinets and furniture for their vacation rental. They love to share their favorite haunts with their visitors, and are very knowledgeable about trails, streams, and lakes in the Glacier Park area.

What makes this Condo unique
The property is located in a beautiful rural setting, with a lovely little trail that goes to an active beaver pond, home to a variety of ducks and geese. There is world-class fishing nearby on the Reservation lakes, as well as in Glacier Park. In the winter, there are numerous trails for both cross country skiing as well as snowmobiling. The rental is very cozy and well stocked and provides a perfect ending to an adventure-filled day.

Gem on the Beautiful East Side of Glacier
Lone Elk Lodge, and specifically Summit, where we stayed, was all we could ask for. The views (most important to me) were beautiful, and the home is clean and accommodating. We were sure we'd see a bear or a moose, but no luck for us. The two horses were fun to watch, never-the-less. There were kitchen staples (and bear spray) available, plus a washer and dryer. The location is on the more rugged and (to me) beautiful east side of the park, which is about an hour away for the St Mary entrance. (Take the route through Browning to Many Glacier or Waterton . . . it is quicker and straighter, but you can still see the mountains as you drive.) We met Leslie in person, and Carl made a special drive home for us to attend to a minor, but annoying, problem, which was taken care of! Very thoughtful hosts! Thanks for sharing your lodgings!
Loved our stay here in Summit. It was a nice home base to come home to after a long day of hiking! I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in on the east side of GNP near Two Medicine. A bit of a drive but an easy drive to get to ST. Mary's and Many Glacier.
Beautiful place right by south side entrance to Glacier NP
Beautiful property and wonderful host. The 3br unit is in a building/part of a lodge with other attached units but with separate entrance and separate deck. Leslie was very accommodating and nice. Great place for stargazing and fairly close to Browning. The kitchen is really well stocked, beds are comfy and living area is very comfortable. Highly recommend!
You will not regret staying in this great property. The owners were more than willing to be so helpful with any questions we had. It ended up being a fairly convenient location as most of the activities we chose to do were on the east side of Glacier. We even had a grizzly bear viewing from the living room window! We can honestly say that Glacier National Park now holds a special place in our hearts.
The Summit at Lone Elk Lodge
The property was fantastic! The interior of the lodge was very nicely appointed and very comfortable. The exterior grounds and gardens were beautiful with great views of the mountains. An excellent stay for all of us.
Perfect place to stay while visiting Glacier
We loved staying on this property. The home is very spacious and has an amazing view of the mountains. The yard is perfect for the kids to play in after along day in the car and visiting the park. The location to the park is ideally located enter either the east or west side. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Leslie was very helpful with ideas on what to visit and when. Would definitely stay here again.
We are located on the south east corner of Glacier National Park, minutes from the Two Medicine Lake area. Our property has spectacular views of the mountains, and is an easy drive to shops, restaurants, and activities.
