About Jane Maxwell

We're a British family with 2 children. After spending many ski and summer holidays in the area, we bought the house in late 2012. We've extensively renovated the house and added touches that we know will make it feel like a home from home. We stay at the house through the year and look forward to welcoming families to stay and enjoy a fantastic Austrian holiday.

Jane Maxwell purchased this house in 2012

Why Jane Maxwell chose Zell am See - Kaprun

This house is set in a peaceful area of Zell and is ideal for those that want to go walking on a flat gradient from the front door.

In summer, we cycle down the valley with the children and explore little villages like Maishofen, which offer fantastic celebrations on most weekends (not to mention their backerei - where a free bread is added to your shopping).

For evening entertainment, nothing beats the lovely walk into town, and if so inclined, a quick taxi trip back.

The area has so much to offer families and friends, the sporty and the not so sporty - from the pools, spas, golf courses, shops, restaurants (Michelin starred restaurant just 100m from the house).

What makes this house unique

In the spring and summer months, a large trampoline is erected.

The climbing frame is available year round.

We fell in love with this property because of the mountain views from every bedrooms and the terrace. It's a large house and the lay out really suits multiple families, where there's space for everyone to relax and enjoy the Austrian hospitality

Perfect house for families

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with our 2 kids and several relatives who also had children and this house was perfect for us. Very spacious and clean and the backyard has a very fun swingset and trampoline that our kids thoroughly enjoyed. It's a great location as well. Walking distance to the lake. The hosts and house manager were very friendly and responsive to any questions.

We definitely hope to be back,

Exactly as it appears on the website, this property will not disappoint. A superbly maintained and well equipped property, great for a large family or group of friends. The owner and management team provided an excellent service. Loads to see and do in the area, a tremendous base for exploring.

Half term with four families

  • 5 of 5

All four families enjoyed a very pleasant week in Zell am See - the property was just right to accommodate 8 adults and 8 children with appropriate room. The skiing is very good for the experienced skier if you get a whole area pass which includes Saalbach Hinterglemm , Zell am and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kuprun thus providing plenty variation (but make sure you ask for this pass!). Zell am See accommodates the novice very well (Jane will put you in touch with ski school).

Booking with Jane was also a pleasant task - very helpful with anything requested. Manfred the house master provided a very entertaining hour or two including an introduction to Nailspielen (although his English is limited but still fun).

Austria is very well organised as you would expect, getting a hire car and driving around the area is easy. So all in all we would definitely consider booking again.

Modern, spacious and well equiped house.

  • 5 of 5

The property is located in a quite village with a short walk to the lake. It is modern, spacious, clean and well equipped kitchen for 12 people. The trampoline kept our younger group members entertained. We had a great time staying here and enjoying the activities on the lake and the surrounding mountains although it rained every day during our stay. July 2016

A beautiful home with plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing stay in this gorgeous house. The house had more than enough space for our party of 8. The house is warm and inviting and set in a perfect location. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and within easy reach of the ski slopes, bike rides and walks. The lake is less than a 5 minute walk away and the town with its cafes, restaurants and shops is easily accessible on foot as the path around the lake leads to the town centre. Definitely a place we will return to.
