We love this house! Every time we are there when we leave we always say 'Good Bye Pretty House!'
It is fun, it is romantic, it is great for families
You feel like you're in the sky surrounded by mother nature
with winter sports and summer fun lakes and pools. It is an all year fun house
Staying here is always a delight with our two children, ages 14 and 5!The house is immaculate and the Schwabs go above and beyond other what other rentals give. Hallie Wannamaker andVincent Brevetti
This place is clean, cozy and nice. With a wood-burning fireplace that warms the house up. A good sized kitchen. The furniture is in great condition and comfortable. Plenty of beds. The owners have a snow-plow truck service to keep the driveway clear so you don't get stuck if it snows (it snowed for 8 inches for us). They have wifi and an LCD tv - which is very important to those who like to Chromecast shows to the tv (which we did with Netflix).
The owners are very friendly and answered questions when we called (even late at night when we arrived).
The nearest supermarket is about 20 minutes away. Just google the Weis in Brodshead which is enormous and is open 24/7
We were two families with 6 and 8 year old children staying in the house, and we had a great time. Our activities were centered mostly in skiing. We went to the Jack Frost ski resort which is about 20 minutes away. On a rainy day we went to a waterpak, not far from jack Frost, that the kids loved, and where we, the adults, had more fun than we had anticipated.
The house itself was tidy, well equipped, clean, and pretty much had everything as advertised in the listing. The place is very, very quiet, fact that I appreciated very much; and it was big enough to accommodate the two families, we were comfortable. There is a nice fireplace in the living room that we used often. The owner left everything we needed handy (wood, fire starter, matches).
I cannot comment much on the "customer service" provided by the owner, but this is because we had no need to contact her at all during our stay since we found everything we needed. I'd say that having the house ready for us the way it was was excellent customer service.
I'd recommend this place with no reservations. In my opinion, the header used in the listing ("cozy, secluded mountain retreat") is pretty accurate.
It seems also that the house should be fun to stay in during warmer months as well. We will try to confirm that in a few months.
OUR STAY WAS WONDERFUL!!!
