The Casita is attached to our home but separated by the two car garage. It is a southwestern style ranch surrounded by alfalfa fields and very large old growth cottonwood trees. The Casita is inside the gated main courtyard wall, which provides security and serenity. There are no neighbors close to the ranch, we are offset from the end of the road cul de sac by nearly 1/4 mile. The pool is located in the backyard of the main house and is suitable for use from Memorial day through Labor day. The wildflower gardens enhance the sights and smells of Western Colorado as well as providing ample food for butterflies, honey bees and Humming birds. Several runs of grape vines line the pasture fence at the back of the property. There are many ways to enjoy walks and bike rides along the Highline canal and local roads as traffic is minimal in our area. Wildlife viewing is readily available, mule deer, coyotes and birds including a family of red tail hawks call Bookcliff Ranch home. On special occassions Golden eagles and Bald Eagles are seen.
1 bedroom Monument view bungalow/studio guesthouse.

About Rob and Krista Bonino
We are both retired from the US Army and recent residents to the area. This area offers dozens of chances to enjoy the outdoors and explore new and different sights. We moved from western Kentucky to escape the heat and oppressively high humidity. We found that climate here, in addition to the climate this area has an excellent school system and a safe and stable community where kids can walk or ride bikes nearly any place and feel safe.
Rob and Krista Bonino purchased this Guest House in 2016
Why Rob and Krista Bonino chose Fruita

Beautiful, peaceful casita!
We stayed one night at the casita and wish we could have rearranged our travel plans to have stayed longer. The casita itself is so comfortable and welcoming and has everything you need. The property and the views are absolutely gorgeous! Krista and Rob are wonderful hosts, made us feel very welcome, and were great about communicating with us about our stay. We highly recommend a stay here if you have the opportunity!
Thank you. Everything was beautiful. Breck and Charlie
Great hosts!! Casita is comfortable and clean and is secluded but close enough to downtown. The pool is also beautiful and outdoor space is nice for eating out and enjoying the scenery. Would return!
Thanks Jaclyn. We were happy to have you and your friends stay with us. Nice group of friends you have. Please consider staying with us again if you venture out this way. Thanks to you and your gang!

Most highly recommended !!
As fine a stay as I've ever had - lovely casita, surroundings and hosts!!
Bookcliff Ranch Casita is located just 8 miles from the North Fruita Trailhead. North Fruita offers several miles of expert and novice level mountain bike trails. Kokopelli trailhead is 10 miles away and is yet another example of excellent biking. The massive and awe inspiring Colorado National Monument is a short 10 miles away and is a must see. We have stunning views of the monument from the Casita. Skiing at the family friendly Powderhorn resort is less than an hours drive away. There are several ski rental shops in and around Fruita as well. Within 20 minutes drive are nearly a dozen award winning wineries that offer tasting opportunities. At least two local wine festivals are held anually. Numerous bike races (both mountain bike and road bike) are held all times of the year. Many micro breweries and orchards are just a short drive away.
I addition to the local amenities offered, Bookcliff Ranch Casita is close enough to enjoy all these events and some off the beaten path hiking, biking and walking.
