A Luxury Couples Mountain Retreat
About Cyndie Cornelius
We arrived in the Smokies over eight years ago. Our first trip was a fly fishing adventure. Until then, my only Smokies adventure had been to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Townsend proved to be an oasis in the mountains. The setting is serene and peaceful and without the trappings of the more recognized areas. Trout were not the only things hooked that weekend... we were as well. Just one year later, we arrived in Townsend to live full time. It took a year to make it happen, but we were determined to make the Smokies our home. We surely can not imagine living anywhere else. Waking every morning to the sunrise over the mountains, and the sights and sounds of the birds and other wild life living in the area, is an unbelievable experience. We have in the years since our arrival, started a Real Estate Sales Firm appropriately named, Why the Smokies. It has been our objective to educate others about the wonders of living here in this beautiful place and if the fit is right, to help them with their goal to move here on a permanent basis, or to find their perfect getaway home here in the Smokies. Since that time, we have purchased four additional cabins and have done our best to create an environment that will hopefully give our guests a place to call home when they come to visit. The number of returning guests has grown greatly in the past year. If your dates of arrival are not available for this cabin, try our other cabins Smoke Rise, The Cove and Wildwood, also on VRBO. .

Why Cyndie Cornelius chose Townsend
When choosing Rocky Hollow, we considered the same qualities that have meant so much to our guests in Smoke Rise, The Cove and Wildwood. It is the parklike, private setting that was the initial draw for us. It is a well maintained cabin that has the warm interior of true log. With two private bedrooms, two full baths and two sitting areas for guests to gather, we knew that we could create the same warm mountain feel that we have been able to create in our other cabins. We have had numerous requests for a two bedroom cabin, but our guidelines are pretty tight as far a settings go so finding the right cabin was not easy. From the moment we saw Rocky Hollow, we knew it had the IT factor we were looking for.
What makes this Cabin unique
It is our mission to maintain our cabins in a manner that will never disappoint. We are VERY local owners and we keep a watchful eye over our retreats. We want you to consider 'Smoke Rise' , The Cove' ,Rocky Hollow or Wildwood".... your home away from home in the Great Smoky Mountains!!

Cabin was fully furnished with everything we needed. Thank you for allowing us to share this wonderful property!
I didn't realize this cabin is located in a guarded community neighborhood so I didn't feel like I got a full secluded cabin experience. The cabin itself was very nice, comfortable, clean, and cozy. My husband & I both loved it. It was the perfect size for just the two of us!
Great spot and location. Perfect for a couple. Close to everything , yet right in the heart of the mountains. This cabin is in a golfing mountain community.
Tree hitting my car
Cabin was nice the a/c has an issue good thing we really Didn’t need it not that you can control the weather but a tree was blown onto my car. The owner came with help and removed the tree and to help as much as possible and I do thank her for that
Thank you for your review. We had the A/C checked out and all is well!
My best to all of you! Sorry the storms came through while you were here. Indeed we can not control Mother Nature. We enjoyed meeting you and your family.
Hope to see you again.
Townsend, Tennessee is a gateway community to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Visitors to Townsend enjoy the Peaceful Side of the Smokies. Townsend is rich in wild life - most visitors come with hope of seeing the ever popular Black Bear that inhabit the Park and surrounding areas. Rocky Hollow is nestled into the woods and is extremely private. You'll feel you have stepped into the Park and you can anticipate the possibility of a critter sighting. There is an abundance of wildlife, including bear, deer, wild turkey, hawks and owls - just to name a few. You can spend your days watching critters at the cabin, or in Cades Cove. You can hike the trails, ride your bike, take photographs, fly fish or tube down the Little River. There are several tubing providers on the river. Most outfitters will hook you up with a tube and river access. You can float down the river for an hour of so. Truly the Peaceful Side of the Smokies!
