thank you for having treated so well the apartment and hope to see you soon
We were punctually and friendly welcomed by Cristina (owner); clean, very comfortable apartment with great views of the bay facing Murano/Burano from the multiple large windows off the kitchen/living room and great sunsets and sunrises too. A short 10-15 easy walk to Piazza San Marco; quite residential area away from the noisy tourist areas. Apartment is a 1 min walk from a vaporetto station. There is a supermarket close-by (~ 5 min walk). We had a very relaxing 5 days in Venice and would happily return to this place - this is ultimately the proof of a good rating. The security deposit was promptly paid back by the owner on check-out.
Fabulous apartment in an ideal location . Stunning views with a water bus stop right outside which we used to visit Murano Burano and The Lido aswell as the Grand Canal . The property was spotless and well equipped. Christina was extremely friendly and gave excellent tips on how to explore the area. Would love to return next year for a longer stay.
We agree with what everyone else has said. Cristina is the perfect landlady, and the apartment is bright, airy, and up to date. We (my wife and I, and our 7 year old son) stayed for 16 days, so we were glad to be able to do laundry. The supermarket at the Ospedale stop was very helpful, and being located right at the Celestia stop was convenient. We often walked back and forth to San Marco, Rialto, etc. (15-20 minutes) and tried to take a different path each time. We enjoyed those walks a great deal, and would not have wanted to stay any closer to the city center. We were very happy with our stay, and give Cristina and her apartment our highest recommendation.
We just returned from our second stay in Cristina's apartment, and, like the first time, we can't say enough wonderful things about it. I won't repeat what everyone else has written, except that we agree with every laudatory comment. The apartment is in a great location, especially for travelers who like to be close to "the action" but just a little off the beaten track and part of a real neighborhood; it's also spacious, well-equipped, very clean, and well-maintained. And the view! You can see across to San Michele and Murano, out to Burano and Torcello, and even to the Dolomites on a clear day. We have endless photos of sun- and moonrises over the Arsenale next door. As everyone has said, Cristina is a wonderful landlady: thoughtful, charming, gracious, and utterly trustworthy. We love Venice, and would come back to this apartment in a heartbeat. I can't recommend it highly enough.
As others have said, this is a great place with great hosts. Cristina and Massimo went out of their way to be helpful. There were a few groceries for our breakfast, some juice, buns, coffee, milk even a little box of wine. The bright airy apartment is even better in person. The breeze is wonderful and yes, screens to keep out the bugs. The sofa bed is comfortable for an adult as are the beds in bedroom. The bathroom though small had a great shower as well as the typical toilet and bidet. Everything was very up-to-date, clean and attractive. We made use of the washing machine and clothes line, hanging out our clothes like Italians do. They dried in a jiffy with the sun and breeze from the lagoon. We were 3 older women and it was perfect for us. We did some cooking and made use of the condiments and a few things Christina left in the fridge for us. Lots of good pots and pans. We walked to the Rialto Market, but the convenience of the vaporetto stop right at the door was great. We could go to the Islands without the bottleneck of the train station area. Just a few blocks away just past the San Francisco church, was a great wine store, open air veggie stand and little shop selling meats and cheeses as well as staples. a little further on there is a Conad supermarket with anything you might need. The wine store sold wine by the bottle as well as bulk in your water bottle. Also as we left for airport, just one stop on vaporetto to the Alilaguna boat to airport. Very easy with bags grown bigger with purchases. All of our VRBO apartments on this trip were great but this was a favorite and hands down Cristina and Massimo our favorite hosts. We will definitely come back next time we are in Venice.
Like other visitors before us, we would highly recommend this apartment to others: honest and helpful host - thank you, Cristina for your welcome and useful advice; easy location to get to with big, heavy suitcases as the apartment is only metres from the vaporetto stop (I can only imagine how hard it would be to drag suitcases through narrow alleyways and over canal bridges!); quiet and non-touristy location - this also means the vaporettos are a lot less crowded here than around the Grand Canal; lovely views over the lagoon towards the other islands - would recommend a visit to Murano/Burano if time allows; all the amenities you need including breakfast and basic food items; clean; easy access to all the sights by water or on foot. We had a wonderful 5 days in Venice and enjoyed coming back to our apartment at the end of each amazing day. Thanks again, Cristina.
