Upon arrival we immediately knew we had made the right choice - the house is immaculate, everything you could want or need, the beach is so wonderful, and the whole vacation home community was so peaceful. We went to the beach everyday, even the grey days, we did family art around the big kitchen table, we sat on the deck and the wind kept the bugs at bay, the one chilly, rainy night we put the fire on and listened to music, we sat in the sun room in the morning and drank our coffee and drank in the view. We had a campfire, we read books, we flied kites, had a catch, slept in, got up early, ate great food, we never used the television once - one week was not enough. Kensington is a hop away for groceries and supplies, Cavendish is right there to fulfill any tourist needs - BUT WHY WOULD YOU GO - the beach here is 1000X's better and we would regularly comment "WHOA beach is packed today!" - with all 50 other people. I kayaked one of the calm days and saw a flower pot (similar to Fundy) to the left and so we hiked/swam around the point to get a closer look and it was a great little adventure. NEW POTATOES!!!!! Stop at the little veg stands (have cash) and definitely, definitely buy some strawberry and grand marnier jam from the PEI Preserve Company to have on your morning toast. We would go back tomorrow!!!
We just came back from a week at Ron & Jackie's beach house and it was phenomenal. The house was very well equipped and in incredibly good condition, and so clean! The beach that it is on is fairly private, never crowded and has a little river going through it used as a wading pool for kids.
We were 5 adults and two young kids (2 and 7 months) and we had tons of space. Lots of outdoor space as well.
We would definitely come back again!
We spent a month at Ron and Jackie's beach house. The location was perfect, close enough to Charlottetown, very close to Kensington (for groceries, restaurants, pubs and the liquor store). The Confederation Trail (if you are into cycling runs through Kensinton which is 14 KM away. I rode the trail on my road bike and it was fine. The house was immaculate, spacious bedrooms, well equipped and everything was in perfect condition. These wasn't one thing that we missed. The beach is fabulous and just the right distance away. I loved to sit in the sun room with the windows open and hear the waves crashing on the shore while watching the fishing boats in the morning. The house is very homey and within minutes, we felt like we "lived" there. I would love to return to PEI some day and I would NOT hesitate to stay at Ron and Jackie's beach house. It was so worth every penny!!!!
the title says it all! ron and jackie's beach house was worry-free and perfect for our week's stay in PEI. they were extremely responsive for any questions we had, and the house was neat and tidy when we arrived. we spent mornings lounging with coffee in the front sunroom (my favorite room in the house), walked to the beach, cooked our own meals with fresh local produce and fish... it was great. we had never been to PEI before, and after driving around most of the island, we liked this area the best. park corner, you won our hearts - we'll be back!
The house was perfect! Lovely view, close to the beach, and had everything that we needed for a relaxing, delightful week.
Our trip to PEI was absolutely magical.......the Celtic Cape.....couldn't have been nicer......the pictures truly do not do it justice, the cottage was immaculate, everything you would ever need has been thoughtfully supplied by the owners, Ron and Jackie and I mean EVERYTHING, nothing has been missed...........the added bonus of the new sun room addition was amazing, we spent most of our time there watching the ocean and just taking in the view....the wonderful breeze that came through those windows was so enjoyable.......we were a family of 6 adults and our two year old grandchild........tons of room, big kitchen table to enjoy our family dinners....a quick walk to the beach was also very enjoyable.....Summerside was a 15-20 minute drive to pick up our groceries etc for the week....loved being able to do our laundry and have it hung out on the line to dry in the Park Corner breeze!!!!..Charlottetown approx. an hour drive, but worth the trip if you have never been.......Cavendish is very commercialized.......so it can be skipped....we would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who just wants to get away and relax......Ron and Jackie were so amazing to deal with.......and we appreciate that they shared their beautiful piece of paradise with us.......many wonderful memories, not soon to be forgotten.
