Lovely private Gulf of Mexico Frontage vintage home... this is a lovingly maintained private home, the home features an all wood tongue and groove interior reminding us of a New England camp. My name is Chris Hicklin. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and was raised in New York State. I attended Kennesaw University and Emery University in Atlanta. I Graduated Cum Laude from Life University in Marietta Georgia and have been a practicing full time practicing Chiropractor at 3220 Clark Road, Sarasota, Florida since 1981. I have two wonderful children, a son and daughter, both grown and out on their own. I purchased this home in 1998 and have enjoyed all of the fine people I have met through their vacations here. I have a cat named Arizona who roams the property and keeps an eye on things. I live on the property and have enjoyed sharing this unique beachfront property with an amazing group of people from corporate COE's to airline pilots to fine artists to international diplomats...just about every walk of life imaginable. The wonderful relationships I have made through the sharing of this unique property has enriched our lives. A relaxed and private life by the Gulf of Mexico on Siesta Key is amazing... just breathtaking, please come enjoy this old house and see for yourself. Please write an email to me for your families specific needs as our circumstances changes daily.
Chris Hicklin purchased this house in 1998
I come from a family with close ties to Southwest Florida and throughout my early years visited relatives in the area every summer while I was in school. On my 16th birthday, still living in New York but spending the summer in Florida I announced that I would move to Florida when I completed my studies. 3 months after taking my degree at Life College I moved to Sarasota with my new wife and started our family here. I purchased the beach house from old friends, he a retired World War 11 United States Navy Captain and she a writer. I could think of no better place to raise our children and to spend my life, it has been a dream. Living on this barrier Island...Siesta Key... is wonderful.
The house sits on sandy seaside bluff, on a dead end street, at the end of a wooded 300 foot driveway, a mere 30 feet from the sea. The elevation is without parallel, the ground floor elevation is 14 feet above sea level which affords it a one of a kind perspective on seaside living. The property is very private, truly a one of a kind tropical paradise.
This is our second year in a row renting Chris' fantastic Siesta Key house. And we had another amazing trip. Family who joined us couldn't believe the perfect location on the bluff and the ridiculously beautiful sunsets from the patio. The privacy of the house on the rocks with Crescent Beach right around the corner makes it a truly unique location. Guests who didn't want too much sun could sit under the gazebo and watch the water. We had delicious fresh seafood almost every night from Big Water Fish Market (walking distance). Weather was perfect except for one day of rain--spent the rainy day at the Sarasota Aquarium. And the tropical storm brought the most stunningly perfect shells to the shore. Lots of take-aways to remind us of our week. Everyone had a blast. We will be back.
I cannot say enough about our 8 night stay at Siesta Key Beach House. From the moment I opened the door we immediately felt at home in this charming and cozy home. The indoor space is comfortably furnished with hints of charm everywhere you look. Beautiful views of the Gulf can be seen from many rooms of the house. The kitchen is well appointed and the washer and dryer was a great feature. My children were thrilled with the WiFi of course. The outdoor space is wonderful with a nice deck with lounge chairs for sunning as well as a beautiful tree for shade. I spent many hours reading on the deck as well as taking in the beautiful view of the Gulf. The outdoor shower came in handy as did the gas grill. The gazebo was the perfect spot for outdoor meals and for just simply watching the endless activity of the wildlife on the beach and in the water. We were treated to a constant parade of pelicans. egrets, countless birds and even the occasional dolphin. I would find myself losing track of time while sitting out there. It was incredibly relaxing, private and peaceful. The sunsets were nothing short of spectacular each evening. The house is within minutes of Siesta Key Village which we really enjoyed for shopping, for its many choices of restaurants or even just to stroll around in the evenings and get ice cream. Siesta Key Beach is right up the road but my family enjoyed the lesser known beaches all within an easy drive. Chris the owner was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was very patient with any questions or concerns I had. My family and I will be returning to Siesta Key Beach House for many years to come.
Rented this lovely cottage beach home for a vacation the first week of summer. It suited our needs perfectly: fantastic location, great outdoor space, wonderful beach access, well-appointed kitchen and bedrooms, attentive and friendly owners. We couldn't have asked for more...except more time there. (And we are planning to return because of our great memories at this place.)
To have the best of both worlds with such a find as this amazing beach house and a wonderful owner that excels with all your needs and comfort!!!
We were there with our 3 kids (9, 11, 13) over Fall Break and I can't say enough good things. The place was beautiful, location ideal, and overall just made for an amazing vacation. No need to go out for dinner we had a beautiful, sunset/water view right from our own patio. Chris was very accommodating and wonderful to work with. Really, one of the best vacations I've ever had! Thank you!
Perfect beach house with an amazing amount of privacy. Me spent most of our time just relaxing and enjoying the Ocean from the deck and under the gazebo. My wife and I did what we do best on vacation - a whole lot of nothing. This beach house is perfect and was well maintained and equipped. Chris is very laid back and easy to deal with making the experience seamless and comfortable. Will definitely be headed back to this property.
Our south Siesta location is convenient to Crescent Beach, Siesta Beach and Turtle beaches. Just a quick hop over the bridge to the mainland, and you are on highway 41.
Within a 15 minute drive are Sarasota Square Mall, Southgate Mall, the shops of Gulf Gate, and beautiful downtown Sarasota's arts and cultural activities. Just across the bridge from downtown is the lovely shopping and dining experience of St. Armands Circle.
It's a quick drive out Clark Road to the interstate, the activities of Tampa, Orlando and points south are all within an easy trip.
