What a peaceful, nurturing week this has been. We enjoyed the paddle boat, but especially kayaking. Ten mooses, three deers, four ruffed grouse, four loons(heard others) and five eagles,as well as four merganser ducks! The sunrise almost daily, the big bright stars at night plethora of lupines filled our senses.Maybe bestof all, were the two rainbows seen from route 15 and at Moose River.Even the trains going almost daily were fun to see and hear. We went to Big Squaw Montain ski area, climbed Owl's head at Atean Overlook in Jackman to the first lookout, went to The Falls on rounte 201/6 north in Dennistown Plantation, climded the lumber road at Plum Creek Marshall Yard complex, drove Adam Dam Road past M13,took walks, and went to Moxie Falls at the Forks, Maine's tallest waterfall. Pier and Esther, thank you for the restful eight nights at Long Pond. the bed weas firm, making for restful sleep. Thanks again. Darleen and Ron

Very nice cabin on the lake, owner takes pride in how the home is kept and the amenities for sure. Pier is great to work with, we stayed in the cottage in late January and the wood burning stove kept it super comfortable! Will return again and visit Jackman again, for sure staying at the Owl Cottage..
Thanks for letting us stay at the owl
Outage while snowmobile of this year! Great House w lots of amenities! Thank You
What can I say - it truly is the perfect spot and far beyond what I expected from a rental. You spend the first few minutes walking around the cottage with your mouth open just taking it all in. Has anyone counted the number of owls - LOL ? It's very obvious Pier wants his guests to enjoy their stay and the cottage is more than up to the task. We didn't have the best weather but we still enjoyed our stay immensely and we're already talking about "next year". If you want a real escape - this is the place...
We've rented lots of places, none as well maintained and flat out gorgeous as this cottage. The owner said "You don't need to bring anything but yourself." And he spoke truly. There was NOTHING we could have wanted that was not present for our use. The location is great....we saw moose every evening. Caught fish. Paddled around the lake. Hiked. You want a peaceful, glorious location in Maine? You cant do better.
This cabin was great for our family of 4 to stay in. The lake is very quiet and a lot of time was spent kayaking around looking for wildlife. we loved sitting in the living room and open kitchen area relaxing. The fire pit was used almost nightly. We highly recommend this property for any renter that wants to get away from it all and relax. The weather in August was cool (70's) so not much swimming went on since it was too cool. This didn't bother us but maybe something to consider on what time of year to go.
We stayed at the cottage with our 2 teenage sons. The cottage was well stocked with all needs for a lakefront vacation. We enjoyed the paddle board, my 14yr old, paddle clear across the lake. Kayaking at sunset was a big hit for my husband and myself. Evenings at the lake were superb, amazing view of the milky way and we made S'mores by the cozy fire-pit. Jackman is a small town, and our boys hoped there would be more action, but a week discovering nature was just want our family needed. We whitewater rafted, explored Moosehead lake by sea-plane, and (with our own Kayak's -we brought) explored beautiful Attean lake. Brought bicycles, but never found suitable bike trails, other than 'logging routes', which are not suitable to family bike rides. Overall, it was a great week away, making memories and relaxing.
Thanks for Sharing 'Owl Cottage' with our family.
