In the heart of Madrid, in one of the most historic and atmospheric barrios in the capital, this beautiful three bedroom apartment is perfectly situated for those wanting to immerse themselves in the energy of inner-city life. The area immediately surrounding the apartment is bursting with history and culture, with a number of sights of interest nearby. These include the beautiful Royal Palace and Sabatini gardens, the Almudena cathedral, and the lovely Campo del Moro, one of the most charming parks in the city. The neighbourhood is known for both its excellent traditional tabernas and its modern bars and restaurants, and is popular with both visitors and residents alike looking for a great meal and evening out. A little further afield but still within easy walking distance are a number of the capital’s top sights and attractions, including the Plaza de Espana, art deco Gran Via avenue, the Templo de Debod park, and the Puerta del Sol, the very centre of Madrid. The apartment itself, although part of a traditional Spanish building, has been completely renovated to the very highest standard with a modern décor and comfortable furnishings. The exterior-facing living room is spacious and bright, with classic Spanish balconettes looking out onto the street below. The space has been decorated in a contemporary style with plenty of seating, parquet flooring, artwork on the walls and splashes of bright colour throughout. The combined kitchen and dining room continues the contemporary feel, and comes fully equipped with everything guests may need during their stay. Each of the bedrooms comes with ample storage space, and the twin bedroom has also a en-suite bathroom. With its modern interior and excellent central location this is a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable home during their time in this exciting capital city.

Third floor: The living room is to the left from the spacious entrance and has 2 French balconies looking out onto the street; it is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, 2 armchairs, 1 large ottoman, 2 side tables with a tall lamp on each one of them, a wooden coffee table, TV table with 2 decorative panels on top and TV and DVD player. The open plan kitchen/dining area is separated from the living room on the right side of the entrance. It has a dining table with chairs for 6 people. It is equipped with a fridge / freezer, 4-ring ceramic hob (stove), oven/microwave (in one), dishwasher and washing machine /dryer. Along the corridor, there are 3 bedrooms (with fitted wardrobes): the master bedroom consists of a double bed (queen-sized bed 1.50m x 2.00m); 1 double-room (queen-sized bed 1.50m x 2.00m) and a twin-bedroom (with 2 twin beds 0.90m x 2.00m). The twin bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower and the second bathroom is in the corridor also with walk-in shower. Please note there is wooden flooring throughout the apartment except for the bathrooms and the kitchen, which are tiled.
We booked this apartment with Spain Select, the whole experience was faultless, including our transfers from the airport which were arranged by Spain Select. The apartment was absolutely stunning, we were a party of 6 adults visiting Madrid for the first time and the apartment had everything we could possibly need and more. The location was ideal for sightseeing and the representative from Spain Select was exceptional in passing on his local knowledge. We will definitely return to Madrid and hopefully to the apartment Marina Espanola.
The best part of our stay was the outstanding service representatives at Spain Select. They were attentive to our every concern. We are extremely well travelled being a surgeon and I, a former Travel Professional understanding tourism as the provider, producer and traveler both business and tourist perspective. This was our first time to use an intl apartment.
The listing description is accurate except the photos are shot with a wide angle camera and rooms appear more generous than actual. In the bedroom with two single beds the bathroom is minimal in size with a very small sink. Lighting is adequate in all rooms.
All bedrooms and beds were immaculately clean and comfortable. The two hallway bathrooms are generous in size and very clean. There are plenty of towels.
The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with everything new and immaculately clean.
The sitting room has two sets of full length windows which open onto the quiet one way street below....Plaza Marina dela Espanola. The view looks directly across the street into the Senador (the Senate)building. It does not look onto a park as shown. It is a very classy area. There are restaurants on the street. We enjoyed Sr. Velazques for both lunch and dinner and were quite pleased with the quality and price. There are 3 ice cream/gelato shops just around the corner.
The Royal Palace Gardens are on Calle Bailen and an easy walk. The Calle Gran Via for trendy shopping and Plaza Santo Domingo are also an easy walk. The beautiful Retiro Park is a good walk for the energetic. Basically you can walk almost everywhere is this wonderful city that has been restored
The Opera is nearby and there are many Cathedrals and churches. The Vesper bells ring in the morning and evening.
This location is ideal for strolling and most areas are a pleasant walk. Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayo are very nearby. Check out the Mercado.
Calle Arenal is a short walk shopping promenade to Plaza del Sol.
To buy groceries, walk along Calle Arenal and turn left at Starbucks and make the first right on a side street to the lower level Corte d'Ingles for the largest grocery/wine store in the area. It's a little hard to find.
The Red Bus stops just around the corner at the Palace Grounds. It's a travelers dream to be so nearby this entire area.
We recommend this apartment and the services of Spain Select. We had a difficult time navigating their website and eventually used direct email for contact.
The apartment was truly great- modern, fresh and had a super location!
We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Madrid. There was a fantastic restaurant with Greta service just a couple of meters from the front door- try it!
Two of us found the beds a bit hard but that was the only "flaw" with the apartment.
Everything about the Marina Espanola was as promised and perfect. The apartment was well appointed and beautiful. We could not have asked for a better location either. Close to everything. I would recommend it to others and I would stay there again. Thank you.

It's a wonderful apartment. Very comfortable. Six of us stayed there in March. Spain Select was very easy and professional to work with. Everything worked in the apartment. I would definitely stay there again. It's within 200 yards of the Royal Palace. The restaurant La Mi Venta is abou 40 yards away and is terrific.
This apartment is centrally located, near the Royal Palaca and Sabatini gardens, the Almudena cathedral and the lovely Campo del Moro.
