With a fantastic location right in the heart of el barrio de los Austrias in the centre of Madrid, the area surrounding the property boasts wonderful views of the city. Just by walking a few minutes from the apartment guests can watch the sun set over La Almudena cathedral and the beautiful Casa de Campo park, the capital’s largest green space, perfect for walking, cycling or picnicking. The area surrounding the apartment is one of the oldest and most typical of Madrid, with historical buildings at every turn and traditional shops, tabernas and cafes on every corner. The neighbouring barrio of La Latina is the place to go for some of the best tapas, food and socializing in the city, while many of Madrid’s top cultural sights and attractions are within easy walking distance. These include the Royal Palace, the bustling Puerta del Sol and the lovely Campo del Moro, a quiet garden oasis tucked behind the Palace and filled with exotic birds. There are a number of different bus and metro stations nearby, meaning guests can explore the rest of the city and beyond with ease. Spacious and bright and with an elegantly decorated interior, the apartment itself is a very special space right in the heart of Madrid. The focal point of the apartment is the large open-plan living area that incorporates a sitting room, dining room and fully-equipped modern kitchen. The uniquely shaped sitting room gives a sense of separation from the dining and kitchen area, and has been decorated in an art deco style, with designer light fittings, original artwork, and comfortable yet stylish furniture. The dining area is filled with light thanks to more balconette windows, and seats up to six people. The adjoining kitchen is brand new and contemporary in design, and comes fully equipped with everything guests may need during their stay. Each of the three bedrooms has been individually decorated in a style in keeping with the rest of the property, with muted tones, modern furnishings and splashes of bright colour. The master bedroom is particularly impressive, with a beautiful en-suite bathroom that includes a large stand-alone bathtub. Each of the bedrooms has ample wardrobe space. With a lovely interior and fantastic location in one of the city’s most historic neighbourhoods, this is a very special apartment for those looking to really immerse themselves in the inner-city Madrid lifestyle during their time in this exciting city.

Photos on the website are exactly like the apartment. Really large, great kitchen and lounge area and big bedrooms. Very modern and very clean. Alex who met us with the keys was wonderful. Very helpful and informative of the area we were staying in. Would definitely recommend it!!!!
We loved the apartment and its central location. The management company is very helpful and responsive. The apartment is right up the street from the Palacio Real. Enjoy!
We were a party of 5 - 2 from the UK, 2 from the US, 1 from Berlin. We met in Madrid for 5 days. My wife and I are experienced vacation rental travelers and have two of our own in the US, so we convinced our UK friends that we should rent this apartment rather than several hotel rooms. The cost per person was less than half of the cost of a "decent" hotel.
It's rare to find something that is even better than the photos - this is one of them. Everything we needed was provided. The location was perfect - very interesting neighborhood to walk in and close to transportation, museums, etc. Well-equipped grocery store 2 blocks away. Others have commented on the street outside being noisy but realistically every centrally located street in Madrid is noisy also. Top-notch renovation of this apartment included all new double-glazed expensive windows that block out almost all of the noise.
To me a major test of a vacation rental is whether you can imagine yourself living there. One afternoon doing some desk work at the Dining Room table with the street view from the second floor apartment I thought I could easily stay in this place for months. Major extra perk - a group of two spectacular reasonably priced restaurants (one more formal, one more taverna) under one owner across the street from eachother. Restaurante Casa Lucio and Taberna de los Huevos de Lucio. 5 minute walk from the apartment. We were so happy with these that we went to one or the other each night we spent in Madrid.
My family (4 of us) stayed at this apartment for 3 nights and we loved it. The check-in process was very easy - Javier was informative, on-time, friendly, and helpful. It was perfect, plenty of space with the amenities we needed. Having two bathrooms was really nice too. It could have comfortably slept 6 people. The apartment was beautiful with all of its natural light and cozy furniture and decorations. It was also located in a convenient location, about an 8 minute walk to the metro and plenty of restaurants and shops around.
My husband and I with our two oldest kids (ages 13 and 15) stayed at Bailen IV for four nights. The apartment is very spacious, modern and beautiful. The apartment is in immaculate condition, clean and well maintained. The location is great - it is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Palace and 5 minutes to many great restaurants. We loved coming to the apartment at the end of our day to rest and recharge. The staff/ concierge was extremely helpful too. Hugo Garralon, one of the staff, gave me lots of good recommendation for great restaurants and shopping areas. His recommendations were better than my local friends. We would definitely come back and stay in Bailen IV again.
We have just returned from an amazing weekend in Madrid, which was made even more amazing by our choice of accommodation for the weekend. Bailen IV is a beautiful apartment, minutes away from the cathedral and Royal Palace, it couldn't be better situated for a stay in Madrid. Very close to one of the main streets, Calle Mayor, which leads onto Puerto del sol which is one of the main tourist areas. Very close to the mercado de San miguel which is great for the choice of drinks and tapas. It's also 10 minutes walk from cava baja which is a great street with loads of lovely restaurants and bars. The Spain select team couldn't have been better with us, they provided us with a concierge service whereby we had a contact to assist us with all of our needs - perfect when travelling with 6 adults and 2 babies (who both required cribs - which they were more than happy to accommodate). We also booked the return airport transfer service which was perfect for our group, transferred to and from the airport in a Mercedes via no which made it a bit more luxurious! Our contact, Alex, was also really helpful, providing us with great information about the apartment and also lots of advice about the best areas to go in the city. All in all we had an amazing weekend and can't wait to go back to Madrid and would definitely choose Bailen IV and Spain select for our next visit! Real luxury and fantastic value!
