Why Julie Giorgio chose Pequot Lakes
This is a lovely home on a quite & Private lake. The Depth is 70 feet at the deepest. So clean you can see to bottom. Great for families with fabulous location right at lake level. Great for Paddle Boarding (2 Paddle Boards provided) or canoeing (canoe provided) or just swimming. We fell in love with this home because of the lake being a private lake as well as a lovely 3.25 acres and lovely home. I have decorated this house to a tee with 3 bedrooms having a personality to themselves, you will see and fall in love to. With the location being just 5 minutes from Pequot & 10 minutes to Nisswa, you cant get a better location!

Comortable beds! Beautiful fall colors!
11 ladies stayed at this home for our annual girls’ weekend. Everyone commented on the comfortable beds and the gorgeous lake view. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoors, but it looked great from the many windows and sliding glass doors that face the small lake in full autumn colors.
There was a slight lack of seating for the FULL group of 11. We had to be divided into different sides of the living space or have some people sitting on the living room floor. And for a couple of the older or shorter members of our group, some regular height (not bar stool height) dining chairs would have been lovely.
The “leather” topped game table is a great touch to a home fit for a large group. It was the scene of a very memorable game of Yahtzee. :)
The location of the house was breath taking we had an amazing family holiday and our week went too quickly. My one and only complaint was the cleanliness which could have been improved in the kitchen, I think the contractors the owners use are not good enough and should be checked.
We loved the paddle boarding and the canoe and especially the fire pit.
Golden Vacation at the Golden Getaway
We had an amazing time here! We had three families with kids. We each had plenty of room and were very comfortable. The yard was the perfect size for yard games and then a great bonfire pit to make memories next to! The fishing was incredible for the kids! Water was amazingly clear! Everything was furnished beautifully inside the house and we had everything we needed and more in the kitchen! We especially loved the espresso machine! Beds were very comfortable! We could tell this house was built with love. Thanks for the great adventure!
Thank you for the wonderful review, we strive to have all our guest feel this way.
Stylish Lakeside Getaway
The Golden Getaway is a great property about 10 minutes north of Nisswa with enough room to accommodate a large family or group of friends, right on it's own small lake. The main floor is stylishly decorated with plenty of cooking and dining space for a crowd, and ample outdoor eating and entertaining area just feet from the lake, and 4 comfortable bedrooms.
The lake water is clear, and shallow near the shore(though the plants growing there were enough to dissuade some of our group from going for a swim right off the dock). The inclusion of a canoe and paddle-boards made it easy to get out on the water.
The kitchen was amply stocked with pots, pans, and dishes, which made cooking easy(there was also a stock of spices, salt/pepper, but not much in the way of pantry staples, which worked out fine for our group that brought those things along). The on-site laundry was also a help(and the machines are HUGE, so it was easy to throw in wet towels from the whole crew).
There were a few minor quibbles from our group, mostly having to do with the inclusion of 2 toddlers in our group(the large beds in the bedrooms made setting up a pack & play a little tricky, but the closets were big enough to provide a good dark space for mid-day naps), and the main indoor play area was next to the fire-place, which could be a concern for those with younger children(we knew about this from the photos however, so it wasn't a problem for us).
We did have some difficulty getting the hang of the tankless water-heater, which seemed to have some odd hot/cold cycles when taking a shower, and was sometimes a bit noisy, but neither issue was a big problem for us.
Overall a great experience, would definitely stay here again with a group of friends or family.
Successful family vacation
We had a wonderful time here! We had three generations from 5 yr olds through over 60 and this property accommodated all of us comfortably. The kitchen made cooking for a group very easy. The last place we stayed had a kitchen that seemed outfitted from garage sales, Giorgio's kitchen had quality cookware with plenty of pots, pans, measuring implements etc. There was plenty of seating inside and out. The grandkids enjoyed swimming and fishing right off the dock. We were also close enough to Brainerd to fit in a visit to the zoo, and miniature golf and a maze were also close by. We loved the downstairs bathroom (there are 2 downstairs, one off the master) which has plenty of hooks to hang bathing suits and a floor drain to catch the drips. Julie responded very quickly (within minutes!) to questions, and genuinely cared that we enjoyed our experience there.
Ellen it was a pleasure to have you all at our home and hope you can return next year.
Wonderful family vacation!
The lake home is beautifully decorated, maintained, and equipped. Our family of 6 adults and 2 teenagers enjoyed paddle boarding, canoeing, relaxing on the generous deck enjoying conversation, reading, and viewing the scenery.
Julie was quick to respond to questions/needs. We would highly recommend this lovely place unless your intention is to bring a boat/swim off the dock.
Just two small suggestions: 1)more open cabinet space in the kitchen for guests’ food supplies; 2)a light in the master closet and more hangers.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us -we would thoroughly enjoy being there again!
Hi Mary so glad you enjoyed our home. Thank you for the suggestion of a light in master closet, i will get that done!
We would love to have you back again next year so keep us posted.
less than 10 minutes from Down Town Nisswa with great local owned business's. If you have ANY question about the area just ask me and I will answer, there are so many places to eat & drink and play and shop and be outside......
