2 Bedroom apartment with free WiFi in the heart of Dorsoduro
Perfectly situated between the Salute and the Accademia, Ca Venetia has undergone a complete renovation turning this traditional Venetian building into a beautiful modern retreat. It has two spacious bedrooms, a sitting room and a kitchen with dining area. Set on the first floor, access is gained through a shared hallway and stair case.
On arrival, the apartment is easy to reach. From Marco Polo Airport, the Alilaguna Blue Line will take you to Zattere, which is a very short walk from the front door. If you arrive at the Piazzale Roma or the railway station, it is very simple to take a Vaporetto to Accademia, which is also a very short walk from the apartment.
San Marco, Rialto and all of the major sites in Venice are within easy walking distance. Dorsoduro itself is a very lovely area - full of interesting shops and atmospheric squares, it is less crowded than the very busy centre and is quiet at night. However, a ten-minute walk from the apartment gets you to Campo San Barnaba or Campo Santa Margherita, where you will find plenty of lively bars and restaurants.
The Peggy Guggenheim Gallery is a five minute walk away, and of course the Accademia is also very close; there are several galleries and art shops in the area. The university is also in this part of town, so there is no shortage of bookshops.
There are two supermarkets within easy walking distance - one at the end of the Zattere and another in Campo Santa Margherita. A floating greengrocer can be found in Campo San Barnaba, and you can buy very good fresh fish from a stall in Campo Santa Margherita in the mornings.
The master bedroom has a beautiful wooden double bed ideal for a romantic night in; the second bedroom has twin single beds. Both bedrooms are fitted with mosquito nets at the windows and the apartment has central heating and air conditioning.
The sitting room has a comfortable sofa for relaxing after a long day sightseeing. It has a flatscreen TV, DVD player and iPod/iPhone dock. There is also free WiFi.
The Kitchen is well appointed and includes a full size dish washer and washing machine, a microwave, fridge freezer and coffee machine. There are plenty of things for chopping, slicing, sieving and cooking!
The Bathroom has a full size bath with shower, toilet, basin and bidet.
Ca' Venetia has been carefully restored with the aim of providing relaxation, comfort and practicality. It is in a fantastic location and we hope that it will provide an excellent base for your perfect Venetian experience.
The rental cost includes all cleaning, but there is an additional fee for 'meet and greet' which is payable in cash directly to the person who meets you, shows you the apartment, explains how everything works, and issues you with your keys. Great apartment in Venice
We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious modern apartment. The kitchen is well equipped, bedrooms comfortable, quiet at night and a great location. It is very close to the Accademia vaporetto stops, the Guggenheim Museum, and restaurants.
I am glad you found the apartment met your needs in terms of both accommodation and location.
Historic little place in charming location
Four of us stayed in this home. We arrived earlier than check-in time and the property owners were very accommodating. Julia met us and walked us to the apartment. We loved where it was located- it was wonderful to leave the front door and be on a canal, walk a couple blocks and be on the grand canal. We were near a vaporetto station and could easily walk or take the vaporetto anywhere. Such a lovely, magical city. We also loved the DVD player and collection of movies. One day, it absolutely poured. We spent the morning watching 'The Tourist', so we were still seeing Venice but from inside the dry apartment. We enjoyed that. The little place had other nice touches- the kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans and dishes, for example. The challenges were: uncomfortable furniture- the mattresses on the beds and the sofa could be replaced; the gnats and cool air that come in through two vents to the outside that can't be closed completely; and the small size of the apartment. It was very cozy for four of us.
Centrally located, well stocked kitchen, and very clean! Beds were very comfortable. Location a quick walk to supermarket - they have a shopping stroller if needed. Easy connection to wifi. Interior clothesline a useful addition. Our family of four fit easily into the apartment. We stayed two nights and days. The only negatives for us were the couch was a little small for four adults and no hairdryer. The homeowner was responsive to communication and the greeter answered all our questions. We were met within five minutes of the arranged time. Local restaurants very close - our best meal in Venice was at restaurant just over the bridge. We will definitely recommend to others!
A wonderful few days
The apartment is perfectly located, close to St Mark's Square and is very well equipped. Fantastic place for a relaxing stay
Beautiful and excellently equipped flat
We spent a few days at this lovely flat during August and found it to be extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering city break. The flat is excellently situated near to the Salute and Accademia, within easy walking distance of San Marco and the Rialto, and also very convenient for the vaporetto to get you further afield. The owners are very lovely and approachable. We would recommend anyone to stay here.
Good quality property in a great location
This was our first trip to Venice so we have nothing to compare with, but the other couple staying with us have visited Venice several times and they said that this was one of the best properties they had stayed in. Generally a bit bigger and more comfortable than most, but the real benefit is the location in Academia. Close to the main bridge across the Grand Canal and also close to Zatterre. It's easy to get around on foot from this location.
The mosquito's were annoying but with so much water around that's to be expected.
Venice was great.
Dorsoduro has the benefit of being a quiet area of Venice within very easy reach of all the principal attractions. The apartment is within a few minutes' walk of the beautiful church of the Salute, The Academia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Nearby are the lively squares of San Barnaba and Santa Margarita. St Mark's Square can be reached on foot within twenty minutes, as can the Rialto Bridge. Dorsoduro has plenty to offer in terms of bars and restaurants and there is a supermarket within easy walking distance of Ca' Venetia if you feel like eating in. The famous Zattere promenade is less than two minutes walk away, and this offers incredible views over the Guidecca Canal, often with sensational sunsets.
