I was born, grew up and worked in Builth Wells until I married. Work commitments meant that I moved with my husband and 3 boys to the Leominster area.
I manage and have successfully run this holiday cottage for the last 20 years and in that time have met many satisfied visitors, the visitors book confirms this. Over the past 9 months I have been engaged in updating and extending this cottage for future lettings.
Mair Hardwick purchased this cottage in 1995
I fell in love with the location of this cottage as it was quiet private and close to Builth being my home area. It also meant that this was a project for my 3 boys in their professional fields to work on with me to update in 1995 and again this past year. In consideration of all the work done I consider this to be a well worth project.
The cottage is a converted barn having stone and oak beam features, has excellent expansive views from kitchen, lounge, dining room and bedroom windows.
Great Cottage, very warm and cosy, lovely views, loved every minute.
Love to come back. Thanks.
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay, really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.
Warm friendly. Views terrific, hope for quick return. Cottage welcoming and everything one needs for a cosy winter break. Much obliged for the great winter break.
What a great cottage! It is really well equipped, almost if you are at home. The beds are good, the bathroom and kitchen are great. Plenty of room and still nice and cosy. The cottage is in a nice quiet and beautiful surrounding, but in a few minutes you are in Builth were you can do some grocery shopping or eat at a restaurant. The owner is very friendly and we would love to stay here next year.
Returned from stay completely relaxed. Beautifully equipped cottage in tranquil setting with fantastic views. Cottage was well maintained and very clean. The owner was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. We have already recommended the cottage to our friends and will be back ourselves. Visited Rhayader Dams, went fruit picking, lovely walks by the river, meal at the Builth Golf Club. Children happy in beautiful surroundings and made friends with two beautiful cats who they wanted to bring home!
beautiful cottage, very clean, modern and well maintained by the owner who was a very lovely and pleasant lady, thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day break with my husband and two sons aged 13 and 9. Spacious cottage and in a lovely quiet location yet close to all local ameneties. There are 2 beautiful cats there too, very friendly and my sons loved playing with them in the garden. I have recommended this property to my family and friends. Visited the Brecon beacons national park and saw some amazing waterfalls and outstanding picturesque scenery, really enjoyed our stay and came home very relaxed and would definetly go back again.
My husband and I (plus chocolate labrador) lived in this cottage for a week in June. The weather was glorious which was unusual for Wales!! We were instantly impressed by how clean the rooms and furnishings were. Everything seemed to have been thought of and equipped accordingly. Beds are really comfortable. The cottage has a lovely atmosphere, one of peace and privacy.
The only draw back is having to pay for electricity for heating/hot water and central heating at the end of the holiday by taking a meter reading - I had assumed that this was included.
I think we would book again when another 'chilled holiday' is required.
