A lovely 3 bedroom home with a beautiful view of Locke Lake in a private community of seasonal and year-round homes. The beach is about 100 yards infront of our property. Bring your boat, canoe, kayak or water toys and enjoy the lovely 160 acre private lake. And don't forget your fishing gear for catch and release fishing. Locke Lake Association has a 6 hole golf course and 2 in-ground pools with at least 2 playgrounds. One playground's just steps away at the beach. We are about 20 minutes from Laconia, 30 minutes from Weir's beach attractions, 30 minutes from Concord, 30 minutes from Tilton factory outlets.
Great place. Prefect for my family of 6. With little ones it's great that the lake it across the very quiet street so we don't have to worry about them right next to the water. The house is just right for a week at the lake. We will be back.
We spent a week here with our adult children and our 20 month old grandson. The house is quite spacious and had plenty of room for our grandson to run around and not get hurt. We did have to put up a few things, but you have to do that in your own home as well. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans. I brought my most used spices with me, but when we got there, found that someone had bought and left a lot of spices there. The beach is just across the street and we would go outside every morning and have our coffee and just look at the lake. Then the baby would come outside and go on a daily walk with his Pops to the beach. The baby LOVED looking at the deer on the wall! He would just stare at it and go "woof!" As for the beds, they were not that bad. we have experienced worse. This is a rustic cabin, not a fancy hotel. The beach was nice, as were the neighbors. It is a quiet place, which is perfect for families and kids. They have pools, but you have to drive to get to them. The only thing we really missed was having a fire pit. It is really too bad that some people ruin it for everybody else. The neighbor Dave was a saint! He even let us use his internet so we could use my son's game machine to access Netflix. Unfortunately the signal wasn't strong enough, and we couldn't. Oh well! My only suggestion? Get wifi in there so the renters can do stuff like that? Other than that, we had a really nice time. The weather co-operated, and we had a perfect week! :)
The cottage was nice. It was clean but we weren't sure when the last time anyone was there. We stayed for a week. Four adults in total. The quite was nice but if you want to really do anything you have to drive at least 30 mins. The lake is a bit small and there isnt a lot of activity on it. Also the fishing was terrible. Not the fault of the home owner, I know, but we were looking foward to the fishing. No fire pit. The owner took it out due to some bad tenants, but it would have been nice to have a fire. My one real true criticism is that the beds were terrible. None of them were comfortable and the one in the blue room had to be fixed inorder to beable to sleep more than one person. There is nothing wrong with this place if you are looking for some peace and quiet. Hopefully they'll have new beds...
This place worked out great for our family. It is clean and has a nice layout. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. The kitchen had loads of utensils/pots/pans. They did not provide things like spices/extra toilet paper etc but it is only 10-15 mins to the supermarket.
The beach is across the street from the house. So convenient.
We travelled as 3 adults and 2 children. Everyone felt there was enough room. It's not fancy- but it is nice and clean.
We stayed for a week and really enjoyed ourselves. beach was very convienent and the neighborhood was quiet.Iwould highly recomend.
My family went with 4 adults, 1 - 5 yr old, and 2 - 1.5 yr olds. everyone had a great time. The home is large and open, the grand living room over looking the yard and beach was superb. Great yard to play in, nice patio area to relax and watch the boats go bye. A few hundred feet and your at the large beach with swing set and a large grass area. We had an excellent time.
Association beach approximately 100 yards in front of house. Just 25 minutes to Gunstock Ski Area for winter or summer fun. Only 25 to 35 minutes to Mt. Major and other hiking, downtown Laconia or Weirs Beach attractions. Take a ride on Lake Winnipesaukee on the Mt. Washington just 20 minutes away on Alton Bay.
If it's shopping you want, then drive to either Concord or Tilton, both have great shopping just 30 minutes away. Easy day trip to the White Mountain attractions. Plenty of restaurants or diners 5 to 30 minutes away. Or just take a relaxing drive through the back country roads.
