The Bear Cabin is a 'No Smoking Zone'.
I purchased the vacant lot in 2001, started the construction in August 2002 and obtain the C.O. in August 2003.
Paul Guilbault purchased this cabin in 2003
I always wanted to build my dream cabin in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, a log cabin that became a large log home, which is now a vacation retreat for our guests and our families.
The energy of a 100% douglas fir log home (Scandinavian Cut) can't be explained nor showed with pictures, but only experienced. All our guests tell us that they were not expecting this and that our pictures are not doing justice, which offset my abilities of a photographer. :)
Paul was the best host ever, and his Bear Cabin was fantastic. Our grandson loved the fire pit, and thought he was "camping" every time we went outside. Great place for our family celebration, and it was just far enough from downtown to be quiet, but a quick trip if we wanted to shop or go to a restaurant.
Everything was perfect. From location, amenities in home, deck and hot tub. Perfect for our family of 11. Look forward to returning to the cool weather again from this Texas heat!
We had two families (9 people) stay together for a week at the Bear Cabin. Our stay was awesome and we loved Bear Cabin! I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful place with lots of room!
One of the most beautiful cabins I have ever seen. Paul did a phenomenal job with this cabin and it was just perfect for our group of 13. There was plenty of room for us, and all of the amenities were great. If this cabin is available next year, we will definitely be staying there again.
Big Bear cabin was great for our fall getaway. Close to town, but not too close if you know what i mean. The cabin was very nicely appointed and had all the amenities you would want on vacation. Great open floor plan on the main level, and a really cool basement with some games and an additional TV. Paul (owner) is really good to work with and helpful.
Only nitpick, if you will, is with the way the deposit is processed on ones credit card and then subsequently refunded after your stay. (vs. just putting a hold on the card like most places)
This log home was beyond our expectations and had plenty of room for four families. Very well appointed, clean and well maintained and owner was easy to contact when I had questions. This home is the nicest place we have ever rented and would recommend it for anyone. Thank you Paul
