Totally charming and well-maintained, this cozy cottage is in a wonderful lakefront setting with 300 feet of shoreline outside your door. With a substantial dock, clean beach, and a concrete boat ramp, you can enjoy this spring-fed natural lake.

The cottage's interior boasts hand-finished tongue and groove pine paneling, and every room has a view of Miles Kale Lake!! A breezy screened porch overlooks this special place as well. This sand-bottom lake is clean and wonderful for fishing, swimming, and boating. Our whole family learned to ski here.

Exactly half-way between Ocala and Gainesville, you can be in either city or Palatka in 30 minutes for dining, shopping, entertainment, cultural events, or health care. Or, drive 55 minutes to Daytona Beach, or less than 2 hours to Disney attractions. This serene setting is for those who like to be close to nature with the advantages of cities nearby.

Great summertime place for the family - you commute to Gainesville or Ocala or P

Fantastic winter haven from the frigid north!! Wonderful Central Florida retreat for retired couples or family who are sick of go-go attractions.

Centrally located: this wonderful lake home is centrally located between Ocala, Gainesville, and Palatka, Florida. it is one mile from the intersection of Marion County Roads 318 and 315.

OTHER OPTIONS: I have two other homeawayc.om lakefront properties: Listing/property ID 127321 on the acre next door and Listing/property ID 910353 on the next lake over. Both of these listings are larger homes with many fine amenities as well. All 3 are close in case you wish to have a large group or family reunion.

A home away from home!!

  • 5 of 5

We filled this home with lots of smiles and laughter. Apon to our arrival we were blown away to what a amazing home Mr.Ed had. Not only was it just so perfect but the location was just great, Away from everything, way in the country. As we entered the home we instantly felt at home. I fell in love with the wagon wheel bed and the beautiful scenery out the windows. We didn't even get settled in yet and my son and husband had already threw down their stuff and ran out to the lake and instantly started fishing. Later that night we layed on the dock and listen to the whippoorwills in the trees and the owls and stared out into the Stars.Talk about breathtaking!!! On day number two my husband and son woke up early to catch some fish as they say "early bird catches the worm" as i woke up i look out to the lake and the water sitting so calm and i see my son and husband in the canoe with the early morning sunrise, seeing this as a mother definitely melted my heart watching the bond between my son and husband it was just a breathtaking View. They caught plenty of fish and made some great memories. Everything u could ask for this home provided we had to ask for nothing, Thank u Mr.Ed for opening up ur home to our family we had such a wonderful time spending it with the ones we love. This will be a place we will return to.

Totally Satisfying Accomodation

  • 5 of 5

This lakeside cottage is complete with everything. Very comfortable, tranquil, well-appointed and spotless. The owner and property manager were gracious, hospitable and responsive. This property was adjacent to another house with same owner so a large group could easily take over the properties for an extended visit. Highly recommended.

Peaceful, clean, superb...

  • 5 of 5

This has to be one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. To be a historic cabin, the place is immaculate, and every detail thought of. The grounds are parklike and well-maintained. There is every tool and utensil in the kitchen to produce meals. The lake is clear and serene. The market at Ft. McCoy is well stocked if you forgot anything. If there is any downside, the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the shared firepit. It seems like if both cabins were wanting a fire, it's first come first served. Beyond that, 100% fantastic. Comfortable!

Relaxing Beautiful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a such a peaceful Thanksgiving stay. Awesome view from every window on the lake side of this great little cabin. From everything we needed in the kitchen to the canoes to cruise around the lake were perfect! I can't express how grateful we are to be able to bring our dogs along, they loved it too! Definitely will be back. Thanks Mr Ed Wynne for a perfect relaxing holiday.

Wonderful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful retreat! We had such a great time at the cottage. It is a perfect getaway with everything you need to sit back and relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the warm welcoming comfort of the inside to the beautiful natural settings of the outdoors. We loved waking up to the view of the lake and the sun shining on the water. Drinking coffee on the porch as we made our way to the dock to enjoy the sounds of the fish jumping in the water to the birds chirping in the trees. The beautiful view from the inside family room where we watched the football game with all the Windows open letting in the cool crisp breeze of the outside. To cooking on the grill as we stoked the fire in the fire pit. The weekend get away was wonderful memories made from the best place you could be on the lake. This is definetly a 10 out of 10 retreat! Cannot wait to return!
