Charming and adorable! So incredibly peaceful! Took naps each day!!

  • 4 of 5

From our first glimpse until we checked out - it was a wonderful vacation. Setting on the deck and/or dock was so peaceful and the charming cottage was all we hoped for and beyond. Must say I loved the claw footed tub!! Thanks so much for opening your home for others to enjoy!

Beautiful spot to relax on the creek, go crabbing and canoeing, and close to great beaches!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week at the cottage. For our family of four it was spacious (each kid got a bedroom on the second floor and we stayed in the first floor bedroom) but still had a cozy feel to it. The setting is beautiful, with a huge multi-tiered deck looking out on the creek. We spent two of the days just hanging out and crabbing off the dock. We caught 8 one day, 6 the next, which was enough for a mini-crab feast. We also took out the canoe and the paddleboat on separate occasions, and were lucky enough to join Joyce and Duke on a pontoon ride out to the bay (thanks!). We took a couple trips to the beach, including overnight camping on Assateague Island and a day trip to Chincoteague for the pony swim. Thanks Joyce and Duke for the great spot!

Most relaxing vacation we have ever been on

  • 5 of 5

The owners were so wonderful and attentive. The views were just beautiful. It was so relaxing to sit out on the deck and watch the birds and it be so quiet and peaceful. This was a much needed time of rest and to enjoy all God has created. It was also fun watching the deer across from the corn fields. The sunset on the bay was spectacular and the cool breezes on the deck, made us want to stay out there a lot. We also visited the town and everyone was so nice.

Cute cottage

  • 4 of 5

This is a cute cottage with ambience. It is a very relaxing place with the best deck of any place we have rented. Loved the hammock on the deck and watching the herons from the deck. House smelled a bit musty but that might be fixed with a dehumidifier. Promised use of the internet but the phone lines were down so router did not work, no internet all weekend, very disappointing to my family. This is really a 2 bedroom house with a loft/den area with one pullout futon in it. I expected a 3rd bedroom. Water in the creek was pretty mucky so did not want to touch it when we dropped the canoe in the water. Was not as buggy as expected but also used citronella candles. There is a cemetery right in front of the house but I found it historically interesting. There is a big open field in front of the house which made for great star gazing. Probably would give a rating of 3.5 stars.

Owner's Response: We are sorry about the situation with Verizon and they promise to have it fixed in a few days. We would describe the 3rd bedroom as a private den with queen size futon bed and private bath. The mustiness could be due to copious amounts of rain recently. There is a dehumidifier in the basement that had automatically turned off but is back on now.. We are always striving to make our place better and we appreciate any comments that can help us do that.

Cute cottage, great views and plenty of room. Smells terrible AND there's a graveyard out front!!

Cute cottage, great views and plenty of room. Smells terrible AND there's a graveyard out front!! Also, the gnats are unbearable and AC didn't work.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately we had a critter that died under the cottage and it has been removed and everything deodorized. As for the ac it works fine the tenants just didn't follow the instructions to turn it on. As for gnats, I am not sure where they came from, because we live just across the creek and have not been visited by them. The graveyard is a very small family one, mostly overgrown.
