About Linda Peterson

We live an hour away between Jonestown and Cedar Park across from Lake Travis. I lived in the area as a child, but my spouse is a transplant from the beautiful Lake Michigan area. I guess you'd call us lake people. We have seven grandchildren, but only two are local. The others are in Raleigh, NC. We also have three small Shih Tzu dogs that love the lake area as much as we do.

Linda Peterson purchased this house in 2007

Why Linda Peterson chose Lake LBJ

We previously had a smaller rental on Lake Travis, but sold it because water levels fluctuated so much. Lake LBJ is referred to a constant-level lake, so boating is never hampered by low water. The area is a quiet, congenial, slow-paced kind of place where folks wave as they drive by even if they don't know you.

What makes this house unique

There is a lot of wildlife wandering around - prized plants are a favorite of the local deer population. We had a very small fawn take up residence in the shady plants of our tree round in front of the house. We named this place for the two peacocks who liked to wander our property. Unfortunately, all peacocks had to be removed. Butterflies, song birds, and millions of stars on quiet nights all add up to a wonderful place to rest and relax. There are 19 parks in this city of 5,000 - one around every corner.

Very pleased

  • 5 of 5

The peacock house was very nice and spacious. The kids loved it there. They stayed entertained with the foozball table, WII, card/board games and kayaks (cellphones were no where in sight). I loved how everything throughout the house was labeled. I definitely will Recommend the Peacock house to all of my west Texas family and friends! We are already planning our next getaway. Thank you Linda for a great stay!

Great family vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Peacock House for the 4th of July weekend, five nights. Linda was very accommodating in the initial inquiry stages and through the time up to our trip.

Everything went perfectly as advertised and explained. We were able to check in and everything was ready for us. We had three families including 5 children ages 3-16 and our daughter's dogs. There was plenty of room for all of us indoors and out. Plenty of outdoor comfortable seating, grill, fire pit, kayaks and life jackets, towels, even a kiddie pool available! We rented a ski boat and were able to dock it right in front of the house.

I can't say enough about how wonderful it is to "move in" to a place so fully prepared as a home. We didn't have to worry about bringing paper products, basic toiletries, basic cooking utensils, spices and condiments! We had most of our meals at the house and even with so many people there was plenty of room to cook and eat together.

Everyone agreed it was a great place and even suggested it become an annual thing for our family! Thank you Linda for everything!

Fun Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had three adults and six children with us on our stay at the Peacock house. The property was inviting and the house accommodated everyone nicely. The house is very well-stocked and you literally just need to bring your clothes and food. The house was spacious and allowed for the children to have their own hang out space which was especially needed on this vacation since Lake LBJ was closed due to flooding while we were there. We were hoping that the Lake would open for the last end of our stay but unfortunately it did not. No one could get on the water or even in the water since the lake was closed. Linda was amazing and allowed us to check out early and refunded 2 nights of our stay. If we could have used the lake, the Peacock house would have been in a perfect location on the lake to allow for great boating and water activities. Linda was so accommodating and very easy to reach. She worked with us on every turn. We would highly recommend this house to any family who wants to get away and have some family fun on the lake with a great house to relax in and enjoy.

last minute romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place was fantastic, it had everything you could possibly need. We fished from the top deck as well as the underneath, caught a few bass and one rather large crappie it was very peaceful and quiet. We released them. We also saw the neighbors mystery critter he wasn't sure if it was a beaver or a nutria, its a nutria! We spent a good portion of our time down stairs and outside, as we have joint problems and that was just fine. Suggestion, a wet bar with a microwave for downstairs would be perfect.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you kind coments. We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay. I have been thinking about a wet bar and microwave for the downstairs area, but where to place it has me confounded for now.
