Guestbook comments from the owner

This was the most restful setting we could have picked. The view is spectacular. There was no place else we wanted to be. After a bit of exploration in town, we were most happy to return to this hidden gem. The kitchen is fully equipped so cooking at home was easy.

Our favorite vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this cottage on and off since 2009. Every time we return, we are reminded why it is still our favorite vacation spot. We love the simplicity, but it lacks nothing, and the views are spectacular!

There have been recent updates as well which is an added bonus.

This cottage is perfect for families, a girlfriends getaway, couples and is the ideal spot to catch up on your reading. In my mind, I think of this as the perfect writers' cottage. We try to return every year and cherish it every time we do.

The owners are so kind and accommodating. I've never had an issue arise while vacationing here, but I am sure if I did, it would be handled in a timely manner.

I highly recommend this lovely gem on the bay.

Our home away...

  • 5 of 5

We will return next year for the third year in a row having finally found the perfect vacation rental! Everything we've ever wanted is here: stunning sunset views, peace and quiet, a beach we can stroll with our two good dogs off leash, and a comfortable clean cottage that is appointed with everything we need. Many good spots for lunches or dinners, but we have a hard time leaving the cottage and it's views. The owners are especially nice to work with and we would highly recommend this cottage to couples or small families.

The location of this cottage is remarkable. It is private, quiet, and comfortable. I love to cook and this kitchen not only has a nice selection of pots and pans, but also bowls for serving and storage. In my experience with vrbo serving bowls are not common. The location is also great for travel to surrounding historic communities. Everything is close.

We traveled with our two yorkies and they loved playing in the yard and walks on the quiet street. My husband and I are comfortable recommending this cottage to couples or small families. It was delightful and the owners were wonderful to work witu.

STUNNING VIEWS, RELAXING LOCATION

  • 5 of 5

Simply perfection! My dog and I stayed here for five weeks while I attended school in the area, and it is one of the most memorable times in my life. We spent every night on the lawn watching the sunset, grilling, and enjoying an adult beverage or two. The location is so secluded and quite, and the community is wonderful. By the end of the first week, we had met all the neighbors and have stayed in touch ever since. The property is clean, the owner very accommodating, and there is so much to do on Aquidneck Island, but you will want to venture no further than the back yard. I highly recommend this property!

2nd time's a charm

  • 5 of 5

We took in a second vacation at this lovely cottage! Once again our stay was a delight and the perfect home base for a family vacation. Our twin boys loved the bunk beds and our dog was in 7th heaven on the beach. After mornings with coffee and the little ones playing on the private rocky beach we could head to the Newport beaches and attractions or, on a rainy day, up to Providence to explore. We always made sure to be back to enjoy the fantastic sunsets over the bay from the cottage's deck with a glass of wine. The cottage was clean and comfy and I'm sure we'll be back again to enjoy it next year.

except it was chilly!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

choose this cottage to be oceanfront and quiet. Easy access from the highway and so also easy back on to any of the area attractions. Accomodations were quite comfy, there were just the two of us, expected guests were unable to make it, so certainly plenty of space, the bunk room would be just that if you needed to use it. Furnishings were quite comfy, brought our own supply of linens, everything else supplied was more than adequate. Being after Labor Day we were quite quiet, closest folks were 3 houses south and 8 north, very nice for our situation. So to the details...the listing was very accurate, no surprises. The property was squeaky clean and well presented and maintained. The window wall overlooking the bay was quite spectacular, the ever changing view was relaxing and refreshing and the soft laping of the waves very soothing, especially enjoyed the view of the lighthouse with its' foghorn, the deck providing an equally impressive outside view, the rocky beach an invitation to search for rocks and shells or whatever else the sea would offer up.

We choose to go south to Newport rather than the closer Bristol as we spend a good amount of time there and are more familiar with its offerings. Fort Adams, Bretton point, Schusett(sp?) State Park, Mansion row and the wineries and the vast array of pubs and restaurants, although dissappointed in our choice of the Brick Alley. Owners also provided a library of menues and brochures of local attractions and things to see and do.

The only problem we encountered were the two nights it got unseasonably cold, especially in the front window wall room, there were electric baseboard heaters along the wall but the knobs that we found on the others in the cottage were not on them and were no where to be found so it was sweatshirt and slipper time at night and in the morning, sure it was an oversight. Other than that I would heartly recommend to anyone wanting to be on the water, have a great view out their front window, comfy, well equipped surroundings. Don't know how it would be on season but was calm and quiet for our stay. Thanks
