What a great cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful two weeks at this delightful cottage. First of all, it is darling inside...fully equipped, beautifully decorated and so much nicer than most pet-friendly rentals. Gas fireplace provides heat; air conditioning removes it, and with climate change, we used both. However, most days were comfortable and breezy...just the way everyone loves Maine. The views of the lake from the deck are beautiful and so relaxing; I already miss my morning coffee there. The lake itself is large enough to provide a lot of interest kayaking, but small enough to heat up for comfortable swimming. And the location itself could not be better. Seclusion on the lake and all the shops and restaurants of busy Camden just 15 minutes away. The owners, who couldn't be nicer, are just ten minutes away and come by to take out the trash and refill the bird feeders. I had never been buzzed by hummingbirds before, but believe me, it's a pleasure you must experience. All in all, you can't go wrong with this cottage. It's a real winner.

Quiet lake house within close proximity to three great seaside towns with good restaurants and shopping. You get the best of both worlds with the woods and lakes as well as the ocean. The owners were great as we got lost coming in and they responded immediately. The house provided a great week of peaceful relaxation with kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Enjoyed watching and listening to the different birds. I highly recommend The Call of the Loon.

CALL OF THE LOON

  • 5 of 5

This cozy cottage is welcoming and inviting. It allows you to enjoy the great outdoors but very close to Camden's night life and great restaurants. The cottage is nicely decorated, fully furnished and yes it has a dishwasher!! Directv, internet. Dock with Kayaks and canoe to just relax on the water. Kids loved the firepit, swimming, and fishing. Owners are fantastic. Very knowledgeable with directions and great ideas for your day trips. Will return year after year. The view is spectacular, and the loons magnificent.
