The Owner purchased this cottage in 2004
Living in a beautiful town of Sonoma Valley is so serene, safe and tranquil.
Besides the charming environment, the community of people are friendly and welcoming.
Riverside House is conveniently located; it is 45 miles to SF Golden Gate Bridge, .5 mile to a 5 star spa, 2 miles to the Sonoma Plaza, and surrounded by countless wineries in the valley.
We stayed at belle moons for a long weekend. We had a wonderful stay. The house was warm and inviting. The backyard was beautiful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
We especially appreciated the quiet back patio which was pretty private. One morning, we even say deer crossing the creek while enjoying coffee. The weather was perfect for sitting outside at night as well. The location was not too far from anything in the Sonoma or Napa Valley. We didn't use the kitchen for cooking anything but chose this place in order to have a quiet private backyard versus staying in an overpriced hotel room. We loved the style of the kitchen and bedroom. Couch was very comfortable. There were window AC units and fans but it still got pretty warm in the evening. In the morning it was nice and cool when opening the windows. Overall, clean, comfortable, cute and private. The owner answered any questions promptly beforehand and we didn't need to contact her for anything during our stay. The coffee roasters a few blocks away has great coffee too.
A lovely home with a nice sized kitchen and an adorable backyard. Definitely has the cottage feel and a great choice while in Sonoma.
Came to Sonoma to attend a family wedding and wanted somewhere comfy where we could relax with our pregnant daughter and son-in-law. The cottage is very nice, on a nice plot of land, in an area of Sonoma I would have not chosen to stay in. Due to the condition of the roads, i did not feel I could go on my morning walk. While there were lots of other amenities at the house including shampoos and bath wash, condiments in the refrigerator, teas, etc that I really appreciated, and the kitchen was nicely appointed as was the master bedroom. I would have also appreciated a sofa that was "sit-able" and room for 4 to comfortably sit in the living room. Also, no mirrors for dressing in the house, only bathroom face mirrors, an issue when dressing for a nice affair. The rest of the house was very nice. There was some issues with contacting the property manager during the rental process and arrival but not enough to cause me to avoid that person in the future.
Overall, the property is fine. It's a purpose-built cottage on the Sonoma Creek, with excellent beds and baths, nice major appliances, and it's an easy drive to Sonoma and surroundings. Improvements needed: hands-on help from property manager, instructions for everything not obvious, updated minor appliances, a bit more honesty in advertisement. Cottage is in a working class area with poor roads, furnishings tend toward Wal-Mart and garage sales. These aren't awful, just unexpected from the VRBO literature and rental price.
Dance, Aerobic and Yoga studios nearby.
5 Star spa/resort minutes away.
