We offer an old farmhouse located a few kilometers from the historic city of Marsala.
The building, surrounded by the farm, is located in a beautiful area of agro Marsala, near the Laguna Stagnone (accessible even on foot in 10-15 minutes).
Founded as a rural house, the residence has been renovated keeping the architectural style of the 'beam' 800 Sicilian, mainly using traditional building materials, often locally recovered from old buildings in ruins: chestnut beams, terracotta bricks, blocks of tuff and local marbles. The house was used as accommodation staying in a context of prevailing farming: olive groves from which we produce an excellent extra virgin DOP 'Valleys Trapanesi' and vineyards 'Cricket' for an historically Sicilian white wine.
Once at the beam, from the large central courtyard leads to the house, it consists of a large living room-kitchen, two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and two bathrooms, for a total of 8 beds. The furnishings are almost entirely made up of antique family furniture restored with great care: wardrobes and beds in Sicilian style, the traditional wood stove that survives next to the modern stove, dishes and furniture of the past.
The premises adjacent to the house we have a small museum of rural culture and a cellar with the tools of master cooper, an activity that was very prosperous in western Sicily, always famous wine-growing.
The house can also be rented for short stays, in any season. To meet the needs of guests (couples or families with one child), it is possible to make one of the double rooms with adjoining bathroom and a small kitchen built in the tower, thanks to a secondary entrance that leads directly to this autonomous area of the farmhouse. .
We recommend our home to lovers of architecture, nature lovers who want to listen to the simplicity of silence; to rediscover, even if only for a few days, the relationship with Mother Earth and rural traditions, with a view to a sustainable future and respect for the great heritage of local diversity.
