There is also a 2nd shower room for guests sleeping on either the double or single good quality sofa beds in the living area.
The living space is open plan with comfortable seating, TV, DVD player, CD player, & dining area, leading to fully equipped kitchen area with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge.
The restaurants and coffee shops on the square close by midnight ensuring a peaceful night although there is air conditioning in any event if windows need to be closed.
Just roll out of your apartment onto the square for coffee and brioche.
Leave the car behind: A car is not a necessity at this property since it is only 30 minutes by train from Pisa airport.
The city is perfect for a 3 night break, and for a longer stay, the coast, Pisa, Florence, Siena and the Garfagnana are all easily reached by train .
If you do bring a car then parking is less than 5 min away just outside City walls.
Loading and unloading at the apartment is permissible.
Peace: Please note that whilst Lucca is a lively and cultural City all year round, the rules concerning preservation of peace in the area is strict and the restaurants in the Square close by midnight.
The apartment has air conditioning so if you want an early night then there is no need to leave the windows open.
The city is sophisticated and it is rare to find noisy, raucous or drunken behaviour.
Any outdoor concerts (often by the very famous) take place in Piazza San Michele.
The City is a small town in comparison to UK Cities
Flexibility/short breaks: If you don't wish to stay for a week or fortnight, why not tag a 3 night break to the beginning or the end of the holiday - if you are booking a Sat to Sat stay elsewhere, then this is the ideal opportunity to both extend your holiday and take advantage of cheaper weekday flights.
Or, why not combine with a break at Barga, City of Art at 15866.

Relaxing in Lucca
Please pass on our thanks to CLIO for a super holiday in Lucca. The
apartment was just perfect and the situation ideal. Lucca was so relaxing it
was just what my wife and I wanted. Everyone was so friendly and getting
around was fine as we were so central. We have said this in the guest book
and hope to visit for a short break in the near future and have no
hesitation in telling friends about the apartment so be prepared for
enquires from them. Once again than you and all our best wishes.

Perfect location. ATM, groceries, great restaurants just right there. Just sitting up at the table in the living room observing the activities in the amphitheater square was fun. Centrally located to walk to all of the city sites. On the slightly negative side, the living room hide-a-bed sofa and chair were a bit akward for sitting and the TV could have been a bit more modern [if you had time to watch it].
I would stay here again. HH
Thank you for your review
We are glad you loved this amazing location!
We have also stayed regularly in Lucca and this is the best location we have stayed at...
I will mention to the owner about the sofa and TV - thank you .

Good sized comfortable and very clean apartment
Wonderful apartment with plenty of character and very comfortable indeed with plenty of room. Two excellent shower- rooms - one particularly sizeable. Good sized kitchen and living/dining room area. Premier views of Piazza Apiteatro . Great buzz in evening and can shut all windows/shutters for quieter times/air conditioning works well. Hot water to order. Well appointed and lovely atmosphere. AND Lucca is a joy. Check out the guest book - great suggestions and all very complimentary - one of my favourite apartments to date and we've stayed in many throughout Italy especially. Go, enjoy and send our love to lovely Lucca and a welcoming apartment!
Thank you for your review.
We are really happy to hear you found Lucca to be such a joy! It is one of our favourite places as is the apartment where we have also stayed - watching the world go by in the Piazza underneath is fantastic.

Amazing amazing amazing
We absolutely loved our time in Lucca. What a gem of a place. The holiday home was central, tidy and well equipped. The view into the Amphitheatro from our first floor windows kept us entertained both day and night. Highly recommend both the holiday home, holiday destination and our hosts.
Thank you for your review and for taking the time to recommend this lovely apartment in unique setting! We hope to be able to welcome you again.

in the heart of Lucca
We stayed in Clio’s apartment for a week in late Nov 2015 as part of our month in Italy for our 25th wedding anniversary. The location was excellent with easy access to all the sights of Lucca, and numerous restaurants and wine bars in the amphitheatre and surrounding streets. There was plenty of room in the apartment for two persons and it could have easily accommodated more. The photos on the website do not do justice to the apartment. Looking over the square from the apartments was excellent for watching the comings and goings of daily life and we spent many evenings doing just that with a glass of local wine in hand. Wifi had recently been installed and worked well. We strongly recommend at least a one day trip by car (which can be picked up just outside the city walls) through the Tuscan countryside, with Volterra a ‘must see’ and relatively close destination – hire a small car, the roads are narrow and challenging through the villages. We were surprised to find that some newer appliances in the apartment could not be plugged into the older power points, and the apartment could have benefited from some recent maintenance. The information pack in the apartment could be improved by more local advice (e.g where you can get groceries, local banks etc), however all things considered we would return to Clio’s apartment should we come back.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your kind feedback following your recent stay. I was really happy to read that enjoyed the location. Many thanks also for the suggestions about the book’s house and the power points…I will provide the apartments with more adapters!
I look forward to welcoming you back once again in the future.
My kindest regards,
We loved this place! The location was extraordinary and the apartment was lovely. The apartment was spacious, clean, and right on the square. Having two bathrooms for two of us was also a luxury. Lucca itself is magical and the apartment was so centrally located that it allowed us to experience the town without having to worry about our car. We pretty much just parked outside of town and didn't give it another thought until we departed. Also, since we love dining out, being within walking distance of so many great restaurants was terrific.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We love this place too - the apartment and the amazing location and have stayed ourselves!
The apt is set within the Piazza del Ampiteatro, with its coffee bars, restaurants & real Italian atmosphere! There is a beautiful delicatessen just outside for DIY lunches & breakfast, & numerous restaurants at your doorstep. Lucca was voted Italy's best City in 1994, and no wonder - there is a wealth of historic buildings, interesting architecture, cobbled streets, lots of Piazza's for relaxing, people watching and listening to music. There are the famous walls of the city, which are fully intact and wide. - a place for cycling, jogging, picnicking or just relaxing on the grass...There are lots of cultural events, regular antiques markets, concerts, & of course the designer shops! If you tire of meandering or cycling within the city walls then the coast is 20 min;Pisa 25 min; Florence 50 min; Siena1 hr 40min; the mountainous region of Garfagnana 40 min; Barga 40 min, and of course the beautiful countryside surrounding the city with hilltop villages, plenty of walking.
