Enjoy the smell and view of the ocean with a 5 minute walk to beautiful Old Orchard Beach. Located on a quiet residential street less than a mile from the town pier and Palace Playland. Originally the cottage was visited for many summers by Rudy Vallee. One block from laundromat, restaurant, convenience store, miniature golf; two blocks from train station. Off street parking available. Everything needed to have a relaxing and fun-filled escape.
Large, sunny deck, combined full kitchen and living area, 2 bedrooms on the third floor. Modern, comfortable living room with sofa double bed. King bed in master room. Other bedroom with bunkbeds and cable TV and WiFi. Charming, private, clean and comfortable. Excellent reviews from my guests. Off-season (Sept--May) rates available upon request.
We have stayed at this property 3 times now and it was great! The decor is pretty basic, but you have everything you need. You can even see the ocean from the balcony! The beach is only about a 5 minute walk away and it's actually very nice not to be right on the busy street closer to the beach. This is a great family rental with plenty of room, especially nice to have the little ones upstairs while we can stay up at night downstairs watching a movie or sitting on the balcony. The owner is also very nice and accomodating! I'd stay again and would recommend this place to others!!
I had a wonderful weekend visit to this property. Alison was very flexible and understanding when my friend got a flat tire en route to meet Alison and pick up the keys for check-in. The apartment was very cozy and well-decorated. I appreciated that there was a TV in each room. The location is perfect: walking distance to the beach and close to many amenities but in a quieter location. Parking is easy because there is parking in the driveway. A couple of things to note. (These are not complaints as I had a wonderful stay!) There are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment so if you are with anyone with mobility issues this might not be the place for you. Also, the bathroom is on a separate floor from the bedrooms so, again, anyone with mobility issues might struggle. There is a train station and tracks nearby so if you are a light sleeper bring your ear plugs. Overall, I really enjoyed this property and wish I could have spent more time there. You will not be disappointed if you rent here. I hope to go back some day, especially when it's warmer and I can take advantage of the deck!
This is a great property. It was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. The pictures do not do the place justice. Very accurate description in listing. The place was spotless. The owner is a fantastic person and was very accommodating. The property is just a short walk to the beach and downtown Old Orchard Beach. I cant say enough good things about our experience here. Highly recommended!
My best friend and i have been vacationing in Old Orchard Beach for 5 years and we have never re booked the same house until now. Alison was a wonderful hostess. She made sure we had everything we needed. The house was adorable and roomy enough for our 4 children. The house is just far enough from the main drag that we didn't get people walking by constantly, but close enough to the beach that it was an easy walk with all our things. We plan on re booking for next summer, and would recommend this rental to everyone!
We had a great stay here. It's a nice place, homey, tasteful, well taken care of, and very comfortable. It was very spacious for two and could easily accommodate one or two more. The location is great: on a quiet street, walking distance to OOB and within easy driving or biking distance of many other great places to visit. There's a friendly neighborhood cat of uncertain provenance who thinks he lives there part-time, which is nice if you're into cats. The kitchen is quite well-equipped (although you might want to bring a sharp knife if you're going to be doing a lot of cooking).
Alison, the landlord, was a pleasure to deal with as well, although we didn't see much of her during our stay. When we realized at the last minute that the sheets we were going to bring wouldn't fit the bed, she very kindly provided the bedsheets and waived the nominal fee she ordinarily charges for a full set of linens and towels, which we really appreciated.
(A note about the provided wi-fi, in case it helps someone. On my Mac laptop running Mavericks, I had some difficulty connecting to the network. The solution turned out to be, instead of selecting the network from the list as usual, choose "Other" and enter the name of the network manually. Set the security type—I think it was WPA2 Personal, but I just tried them all till I found one that worked—and enter the password. I think this is a Mavericks problem, not a problem with the wifi, which worked perfectly for our entire stay.)
What a beautiful as described property, very spacious, fully equipped with everything your family needs. Alison is a wonderful women and very accommodating if you need anything at all.
Already booked for our 2014 vacation and will be making this a family tradition.
Surf, swim, volleyball on the beach and play in the sun. Miniature golf, shopping, dining (my favorite is Joseph's by the Sea), Palace Playland amusement park (town square), bike trail, bird sanctuary.
