This is our second home and we are sure you will be as comfortable as you would be in your own home in this idyllic community of Mount Shasta.
This 'country elegant' style home has been freshly painted and carpeted, and includes a new see-through wood-burning stove (wood provided), cozy furnishings, TV, DVD/VCR, stereo/CD player, phone with answering machine, plush linens, and fully-functional kitchen (refrigerator with in-door ice/water dispenser, toaster, oven, microwave, blender, mixer, coffee maker and dishwasher) including cookware, tableware and utensils, washer and dryer.
We have just installed a new whole house water conditioner for clean sparkling water out of our own well.
Comfortably sleeps six, there are three bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, one with a queen-size bed, and one with twin beds. A crib is available for those traveling with babies. The large open kitchen adjoins the dining area. The living room is central to bedrooms and kitchen with plenty of seating for a family and guests.

We live in a major metropolitan area with busy work interacting with the public that never seems to stop. It was during our first anniversary that we visited Mount Shasta for the first time. We made an offer on a home before we left! We wanted to have a getaway that was peaceful but still full of the activities we enjoyed. Rather than renting a place each time we visited, we decided to have a home in Mount Shasta be our personal second home.
The Owner purchased this house in 2006
We tried to experience as much as we could during our first visit: playing golf at Mount Shasta Resort, hiking around Siskiyou Lake, eating at many of the local restaurants (that are all so good that we can't decide which one is our favorite), having an afternoon break at the local pub (The Goat Tavern), riding bicycles, fishing several of the local streams, lakes and rivers and doing a little shopping in quaint downtown Mount Shasta. We just missed ski season but knew that Mount Shasta Ski Park would be there for future winters.
It's so easy to get there by flying into Medford OR or Redding CA, both being a little more than an hour from our home, or driving up straight off I-5. We visit as often as we can, but not often enough. Since it's we're not able to us it as often as we'd like, we thought it was too beautiful to keep to ourselves so we thought it should be a vacation rental for others seeking a home away from home, to enjoy the scenery, tranquility and serenity of the Mountain.

We had such a wonderful trip to Mt. Shasta! The house was great! We all really enjoyed the fire after a long day on the mountain, and the lovely table to eat dinner and play cards. It was so cozy, perfect for two couples and our kids. We are already talking about when we can do it again!
Immaculately clean, well appointed and comfortable. Beautiful view of Black Butte. Feels very private. Just a 10 minute drive to Lake Siskiyou and the Mount Shasta Resort. Very highly recommended!!
This was our first time in the Mt Shasta area, and we were very happy with the property. It was immaculately clean, well-stocked, and had very comfortable sleeping and living areas. We were joined by a fawn and its mother in the yard several times. Area attractions were all within easy driving distance, and the owners have an extensive set of information on everything worth doing in the region. Would gladly stay again.
I only write reviews when a property exceeds our expectations. This property was a joy to stay in... The nice furnishings, well stocked kitchen, and special decor make this a cut above the other pet friendly homes I've rented in the past. The love and care taken of their house is evident and a good value. We loved our stay...
This was the best equipped VRBO home we have stayed in and we have stayed in over 30. Everything you needed to be comfortable. Partial views of Black Butte in back and partial view of the Eddies from the dining room table. The only detractor was the neighbors. Across the street and on the right they have large loud dogs that are out all hours of the day and night barking at each other. We finally solved the problem by closing the windows and turning on the AC. We would stay again in the winter with closed windows.
We had a please of staying at this house for a weekend skiing. We will definately be back!
The House of Bass and Lilies was lovely for our weekend getaway. We were two couples with three small children, and the space worked nicely. This is one of the nicer homes I have stayed in my five years of using VRBO type properties for travel.
