This charming Lake cottage shares 100 feet of small pebble beach on Flathead Lake with the owner who lives next door. From the living room and outside patio is a spectacular view of the lake and mountains.
Easy one hour drive to Glacier National Park on mostly four lane US Highways 93 and 2. Located at the North West corner of Flathead Lake, this cottage is only minutes away from world class fishing and hunting. Eight golf courses are within an hours drive. Visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of water sports including boating, fishing, kayaking, sailing and jet skiing (Commercial charters and/or rentals are available in Somers, Lakeside and Bigfork. On Tuesday and Friday evenings you can sit back on the beach with a campfire and watch the local North Flathead Lake Yacht club races directly offshore.
The kitchen is equipped with the usual appliances except a dishwasher (My wife thinks that washing and drying dishes together is a great family activity). Cooking pots and pans; silverware, dishes and glassware are all included. There are several excellent restaurants nearby. Bonus amenities include a washer and dryer in the entry area. A TV with DVD is found in the living room.
The bathroom was remodeled in 2006 with tile floor, pedestal sink and combination tub/shower. The kitchen range and microwave and the clothes washer were replaced in 2005. The
refrigerator was replaced in 2008

Bruce Jellison purchased this cottage in 1970
We bought this property in 1970 while we were working in California. We were both raised in the Flathead, so this was to be our retirement home. We bought a business in Somers and moved 'home' in 1971, built a new house in '77 and raised our 2 children here.
We live here year round and love the lake. The cottage is located next door to the house we built in 1977. Great place to raise our kids as the lake provided year round entertainment and recreation. Sailing, fishing, boating, water skiing, tubing, swimming are some of the recreation our guests (and grandkids) enjoy. Full kitchen for money saving eating or eat-out at several near by restaurants. Easy drive to Glacier National Part for day trips. .
We loved being so close to the lake. The kitchen was well supplied and clean. The cabin is comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids. One kid on the hide a bed and one kid on the long couch.
The property is exactly as described. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals and serve with style. The washer and dryer came in very handy after a day of white water rafting and keeping up with the laundry. We had our 16-year old granddaughter with us and we all had plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home. The cottage has a beautiful setting on Flathead Lake and is on a quiet road. Our host was readily available for questions and anything we might need (like a fan on a really hot day). The area is spendy, yet our granddaughter wanted to stay on the "cleanest, largest, freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48-states" so we did and we had a great time. I would highly recommend white water rafting and chartering with a fishing boat and of course, Glacier Park where we saw many wild animals and beautiful sights. Our favorite restaurant was Scotti Bella's in Kalispell; if you go there check out the rendition of The Last Supper in the back dining area, it's worth the stop.
Our stay at the Jellison's cottage was wonderful. Mr. Jellison is the most gracious host wanting to make sure you are comfortable from the moment you step in the door. He is a wealth of information on the area. The water boards, kayak, can canoes are a definite benefit if the weather is warm. The neighborhood is very quiet and the views are magnificent!
Wow! This place was awesome! The pictures do not do it justice! I was pleasantly surprised how well kept and immaculately clean it was! It is just steps from the crystal clear lake!
We took the train into whitefish, rented a car and drove a straight shot down to the cabin with stores on the way where we bought groceries for our stay.
The owners live right next door and are very hospitable! We had our 12 year old son with us and Mr. Jellison went out of his way to make sure he had fun! He got a paddleboat out and a paddle board which was one of my sons favorite things to do on the lake! There is also a place to have a fire next to the water.
We love nature and loved photographing the osprey and eagles that nest near by!
The view of the mountains across the lake was just beautiful! A beautiful sight to wake up to with your morning coffee! At night I left the windows open a tad and loved hearing the waves hitting the shore! So peaceful!
We went to Glacier National park, drove over to Big fork and got some huckleberry jam and some huckleberry ice cream! Got my husband a fishing charter for a surprise birthday gift and him and my son went and had an awesome time catching some BIG fish! We also recommend the Bison Range which is just south of there! Again...we like seeing wildlife so that was super cool! We underestimated all we would see there and should have gotten there earlier!
As you can tell by my review we really loved it here! We were sad to leave the location and the owners! But what a blessing it was! Would definately love to go back!
The owners do a great job with this property and are very accommodating. It's reminiscent of grandpa's lake cabin, clean and well kept with a million-dollar lake view. The location is convenient to just about anything on the north side of the lake -- Big Fork, Kalispell, Whitefish and Glacier Park. The kitchen is well appointed so you can eat in as often as you wish. If you're looking for "modern" and large spaces, you'd probably be better off in a condo. But if you like lake living the way it used to be, this is a peaceful place in a near perfect location.
It was everything it was promoted to be. The Owners are very considerate. At age 63, we had no problems with access in neither the cottage nor lake. The commute to Glacier National Park takes nearly an hour; but, it is a pleasant drive. There is much to do and see in the area.
The cottage could use minor updating (flooring); but, everything was clean and very well maintained. The Jelisons CARE for this cottage and their tenants. I would definitely seek to rent this cottage again.
100 feet of private beach allows room to store your watercraft on the pebble beach , be it a PWC, kayak, canoe, small sailboat, fishing boat or whatever.
