FLATHEAD LAKE MONTANA - SKIDOO BAY FINLEY POINT LAKE HOUSE

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING, NO PET PROPERTY!

This house is our Montana home, but we are willing to rent it for certain weeks per year. It is available only for these times: End of June through mid- August. This home has huge windows that bring in the light and wonderful sweeping mountain views of the Mission Range. The house has a very large wrap-around deck with a gas barbecue.
The cabin sleeps 6 (8 with queen sofa bed) and has two master suites, one up and one on the main floor. There are two day beds in the loft and two twins in the upstairs bedroom. There are 3 baths, one in each bedroom and one for guests on the main floor. There is a stone wood-burning fireplace that provides some heat. Electric heat is available with individual thermostats and the heat pump. Ceiling fans are installed for cooling and the heat pump provides air conditioning also.

Free Wireless Broadband Wi-Fi.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven, gas cooktop, and microwave. Kitchen has all amenities including granite counter tops and breakfast bar. The entire first floor is tiled except for the bedroom. This bedroom has a whirlpool double bath that looks out on the water and beach.

There is a wonderful beach with water access for small water craft (kayaks and canoes).

We share the beach access with our neighbors and do not have a dock but will be sending information on boat rentals and a safe moorage nearby. ****PLEASE NOTE that our neighbor's dock may not be used under any circumstances.****

Good and Bad

The property is amazing. The views are amazing, the deck is amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and supplies generally were very good as well. Check In instructions could have more clearly laid out where to park, but otherwise fine. House was very clean. Now the cons - the furniture is ancient including deck furniture which was literally falling apart with each sitting and had been taped together from prior similar issues. The air conditioning is a single split-unit Fujitsu which was not adequate for the summer heat especially for the master bedroom and the loft (where the other beds are located). With new furniture and an additional window ac unit this place would be amazing.

Perfect Family “Lake” Vacation!

This beautiful house was clean, spacious, and well equipped. There was easy access to the water, the location on the peninsula was quiet and relaxing, and the view from the deck was worth the 20 hour drive from California!!! We hiked Glacier Park, we rented a boat, we ate at the local Finley Point restaurants and truly indulged in lake life. I highly recommend this property to families with older children.

Beautiful, restful and relaxing

When we arrived, we were stunned by the beauty of the place. Right on the most stunning lake in the country, spacious, well appointed deck. New, natural gas grill which we put to good use. The house has all the natural light you could ever want. Master bedroom is huge with very efficient and comfortable appointments. Spacious loft and second bedroom which our grandchildren thoroughly loved. All appliances and appointments are top of the line. Had a couple of questions and the Property manager and owner were totally forthcoming and very pleasant to deal with. I have to mention their neighbor, a retired Veterinarian, who is the nicest, most personable person you could ever hope to meet. To summarize: this place is as advertised, properly priced, efficiently and honestly managed.

Nice place with room to spread out and a fantastic view. Good water access but lack of a dock is the only major downside. Upstairs twin beds could definitely be upgraded to queen size. Outside of those two items it is fabulous. Thank you so much to host/owners that were very responsive and easy to work with!

I am a Montana native (Missoula) and currently divide my time between Seattle, Maui and this MT Lakehouse. My parents originally acquired this property in 1959. My late-husband and I fully rebuilt the cabin in the early 2000s.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in the family for two generations. The property was (almost) fully rebuilt in the early 2000s. The fireplace was part of the original structure. The property is unique in that it's location is grandfathered in. It is no longer possible to build a structure so close to the water's edge.
