Amazing house!

  • 4 of 5

This house is amazing and it was a great place to hang out with a family. We loved the spa and pool table, hours of entertainment! The only thing I would say is that, for the price we expected that small comforts would be provided such as shampoo and conditioner and a small welcome package with essentials.

Enchanted place for a group or family

  • 5 of 5

Really great place, A little bother with some art that could offend younger children that can read, but easy to cover up (if necessary) We felt at home and the outdoor eating cooking area with a wood fired pizza over is fantastic. Discrete helpful on site manager Sirosima was more than helpful, but never intrusive.

lovely and clean home, but buggy in late July without screens on windows and tricky stove/oven.

  • 3 of 5

Villa Monte Quercione is a great property. The layout is amazing. I would rate this home a 5 star if a few things were differnent. First, there is no air conditioning which I knew, but no fans were provided and the nights were warm. Myself and our family members were bitten alive by mosquitoes and my nephew received a nasty spider bite and my daughter's bites were so bad we needed to take both her and my nephew to the farmacia for medicine. I know it was the country, but screens on the windows are definitely needed in this location.

The home has 6 very modern and clean bathrooms which was a plus and the layout gave our party of 10 more than enough space for privacy and relaxing. The kids had fun in the hot tub/ cold tub (bc of weather we turned it down). The outside area was nice, yet a mangy cat was wandering around and begging at the door. This made for a quirky funny diversion for the kids, but some in the party found it troublesome. There were plenty of cooking pans and utensils. The espresso pot needs updating and a few newer pans would be nice. We struggled a bit with the gas stove and were only able to work two burners. We did not try the oven. We were able to put together yummy meals and breakfasts in the kitchen which had a great big table that was awesome for preparing and eating food. There was also was another table in the other room. Lastly, I must comment on the home's art. I certainly am no art critic, but some of the content was disturbing. The is a huge painting of a Nazi brown military coat with swastika armband and jackboots, a huge framed personal ad looking for girls and other requests bordering on sex - trafficking- this was most offensive to some of our party.

All in all this property provided lots of room, clean bathrooms, wifi, big kitchen and large outside for relaxing on lounge chairs. With a few fixes it would be more comfortable and rated higher.

Great location, lots of space, a couple of issues to consider...

  • 4 of 5

Several things we liked about this rental home -- the location was great, just a few miles from Bologna in the hills outside the city. Just far enough away to feel that you're in the country, but with great access to Bologna and easy day trips to Modena, Parma, Ravenna, Ferrara, etc. The home also has ample size for a large group, with plenty of space, a great game room, and a nice yard. The hottub was also a nice addition. A couple of minor isssues, however. The caretaker was present (he lives on the property), but wasn't tremendously helpful. And there is another family that lives in a home that essentially fronts the same yard, and they didn't seem thrilled to have guests on the property.

Just enough county to escape the city and yet close to Bologna when needed. Great home base for traveling and exploring the region - Ferrara to Parma to Firenze. The kitchen and outdoor dining area are awesome. Interesting property inside and great space for everyone to spread out when needed. The views are wonderful. Make sure you have Davide come cook a meal for you at the villa - la bella vita!!! Only wish the WiFi was faster - a must have in today's world.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

It is a spacious and well-furnished villa with tasteful decoration and great view of the hills surrounding Bologna . We enjoy spending time in the courtyard overlooking the landscape.

The house owner is very helpful and friendly and has provided useful tips of the area. He has also given us excellent restaurant recommendations!
