My name is Monica and I'm a California native. I am a second grade teacher on an army base. I am a GRCA hobby breeder (golden retrievers). Forced to relocate to San Juan, I decided to rent out my dream home! My husband Milito and I maintain the property ourselves. We are a true Vacation Rental by OWNERS. No rental managers! Please come visit us and see if this home passes your expectations!
Monica Echaves purchased this villa in 2001
I came to PR 17 years ago as a DOD elementary school teacher. I worked at Roosevelt Roads Naval station which closed due to politcal controversy. Relocated to San Juan area, I converted my brand new dream home into a vacation rental. I hope others love and enjoy the time that I am unable to spend there. This home offers peace, tranquility, harmony with nature and spectaular ocean views.
The house is very beautiful, the 3 rooms and beds are very comfortable and the mural of the walls are awesome. The view of the house is also spectacular. The pool is very nice, too. If you are looking for a vacation outside the city but near it, this is the perfect place. The owner Monica is very accessible and Aida the housekeeper is also very kind and available. Also, the owner is a pet lover and she has two cats around the property all the time, so you better be a pet lover, too. Thank you Monica for such amazing house.
So this place is a great gem for getting away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. The house is much more beautiful in person then the photos can speak for.
Waking up each morning to the beautiful view of the ocean and the tiny islands was something worth the trip for. This house is secluded, so if you are looking to be close to the action, this is not the place for you.
Instead, this is the place to catch up with friends, cook dinner and just enjoy life. Good location of you plan to do the more nature side of Puerto Rico such as Culebra, the rainforest and Luquillo.
All in all, was a great place to relax and enjoy the Island breeze each day.
What a great place to spend time and bond with family and friends. A truly hidden paradise. Quiet, tranquil, beautiful scenery and plenty of room.
We thank you for your hospitality.
Monica's home was the perfect spot for our Puerto Rican vacation. It has all the amenities we needed, and she is very responsive and accommodating. The upstairs unit is a beautiful 3 bedroom with gorgeous tile and everything was spotless. The home is not too far from the ferry terminal in Fajardo which made excursions to Culebra and Viecques very convenient.
This large and beautiful home was perfect for our girls' trip to Puerto Rico. A group of 10 ladies rented the entire house in February and loved it! We especially liked the large kitchen and the balcony/porch area on the second floor with the incredible views of the mountains and coastline. There was more than enough space for all of us! The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The cats were friendly, but stayed outside.
This house is in a great location. Not only are the views spectacular and the cool breezes wonderful, it's also close to Fajardo and the small airport in Ceiba. While there, we took a ferry to Culebra on a snorkeling/kayaking trip one day and flew in an air taxi to Vieques on another day. I highly recommend visiting both islands. We hiked to Mina Falls in El Yunque rainforest, followed by lunch at the Luquillo kiosks and beach time at Playa Luqillo. We also did the bio bay tour in Fajardo (not much bio-luminescence left, unfortunately, but a fun adventure kayaking through the mangroves) and ate at a restaurant there. We shopped at the grocery store in Ceiba and did a lot of our own cooking. Large, clean, well-equipped kitchen made it easy. We also used the washer and dryer (the one upstairs and the one downstairs), which was convenient.
There is enough space in this house for a large group to fit comfortably. I highly recommend staying there. This place truly is a hidden paradise!
We are located on a mountain top which makes you feel far away from it all, yet only 2 miles to the freeway entrance, largest marina in PR, grocery, fast foods, bakery and Walgreens. Our location provides extensive ocean and mountain views. Must-do activities, Hiking in El Yunque Rainforest & Las Tinajas river and water hole, trip to Culebra, Vieques and Icacos islands, Fajardo Lights House tour and night Kyaking on the bioluminescent bay. Don't miss Cueva Ventana, Cueva del Indio and Camuy caves.
