We found the villa no problem with clear instructions and codes to get in. The villa was very clean and tidy, there were 4 adults staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. Pool area was lovely set in nice planned garden. We have a few BBQ which we loved. The bus stop and shops are abt 5-10 minutes over a bit of rough ground, The lady from villa management came over a few times to change linen and towels and was very pleasant. The only moan I have was the main bed was far too hard for my husband and I, but some may people prefer that, it's down to personal taste. It was also very warm at night and the fans provided weren't that strong but again it was the hottest time of the year. I would go back to this villa again as its in a fab spot and have even given the details to some friends.
We were so very lucky to find this little gem of a place and we managed to slot in just nicely to the space that Paul had on his availability calendar, it all worked out so perfect and on arrival at the airport we picked up a hire car and found the Villa so easily with Paul's fabby guide. The villa was just perfect, and was very roomy. Everything you would need was there to make it almost home from home. Outside was just beautiful and we found it to be so lovely and quiet. The pool was a real treat and was kept immaculate by the maintenance team.
We had no problem in finding lots of nice places to eat and everyone was just so friendly. The nearby supermarket to the villa was great for a quick stock up and in the centre of Playa Blanca there is a Hippo and a Spar that are both full of everything you need.
Paul had thought of everything, and a very informative folder in the Villa is worth a read through, full of little tips and pointers.
Anyway I could type away here until my hearts content but why not go see for yourself. Book yourself a treat and a chance to unwind.
Oh and the weather was lovely....
The attention and communication from Paul and the Villa management team were fantastic.
Big thanks to all
We travelled from Newcastle, picked up a hire car from Avis (very easy) which was parked about 200 metres from the arrivals lounge at the airport. Used Pauls instructions to drive there in the dark and found the villa very easily as the instructions are comprehensive.
The villa is beautiful and of an extremely high standard, its peaceful and quiet and away from the hussle and bustle but close enough to pop quickly to the lovely local shops, restaurants and nightlife, which is plenty and varied. There are some lovely restaurants and shopping areas in Playa Blance and the prices are very reasonable.
Everything in the villa is fine and the pool and barbeque area is superb. I can thoroughly reccomend this villa and Paul makes it all very easy as he thinks of everything.
We really enjoyed our stay here, villa was clean spacious and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. the pool was a great extra for us and it was well used. bedding and towels changed weekly and it was a lovely extra having those essentials in fridge on our arrival we arrived late and didnt have a clue where any shops were or if any would be open.
Playa Blanca was a pleasant resort very clean and pretty with real character with a good selection of restaurants and bars and a small selection of shops(we visited Puerto Carmen and once was enough no comparisons there).
You do need a car here, if I had to find a downside i would say the villa is very far out and to walk into playa blanca it took us an hour from villa to ferry port along promenade walk which prob wasnt quickest route though. Petrol was cheaper thanUK and parking is easy as you park on roads with no charges so car hire is no problem roads were good and no traffic problems. We had ten very relaxing chilled out days here and would recommend this as a good family break
The villa was really lovely my 2 year old loved it and made me feel 100% better as I was 9weeks pregant with morning sickness and never any appetite (driving my hubby round bend) after that weeks stay came home feeling loads better. Only 1 thing do recommend hireing a car ask Paul for advice on car rental company.
a superb heated pool/DVD collection.
As many have said before, Paul is super to deal with and only asks for a small deposit (and no security deposity).
It is his family home in the sun and this is reflected in the way the villa is equipped (as distinct to the meagre resources of buy to rent properties) and maintained eg no scratches nor damaged furniture; infact, a high degree of quality prevails throughout.
The recent change of management (from Tracey) would appear to be a "negative" factor, although the impact on us was "manageable".
Also, we seemed to be surrounded by dogs' barking (3 at one villa 3 doors away) but during hours of darkness, it was peaceful every night.
Mike (and Mel) cleaned the pool regularly and tended to the irrigation system/overgrowing shrubs as well as giving adhoc inputs; this was much appreciated.
The jury maybe out but with a taxi c50 euros each way from/to the airport, a car (do not use Goldcar/try Autoreisen) does seem sensible and driving, with the possible exception of Arrecife in the rush hour, is easy and the road surfaces are very good in the main.
Certainly, we doubt there would be very many places to stay which overall are as compelling as this villa.
So, if you are at all interested get in touch with Paul without delay or else you may find it is not available when you want to go.
We would certainly stay again and recommend it to others.
Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has recently been called the St Tropez of the Canary Islands with the best beaches, restaurants and bars on the island. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the harbour. Most of the bars and restaurants are situated on the sea front and offer outstanding views. Playa blanca has a very relaxed atmosphere but also offers something for everyone.
