Why Bobbie McCombs chose Newland
It's like camp. That's the best way we can describe it. Years and years of hiking, campfires, cookouts, screened porch dinners, swimming in rivers and creeks and waterfalls, and just hanging out.

We loved our stay at this cabin! It was very clean, had everything we needed (and more), the view was great, it was private, the decor is very cute, and the WiFi worked fine for us! Bobbie was so quick to reply and helpful when we had passed the road to find the location. There is a lot of hiking and nature to see in the area, however do expect to drive a little further than you’re probably used to to get food etc.. We didn’t mind that at all, the scenery in the area is great and being secluded is exactly what we wanted. This is a very relaxing area to stay! We hope to come back :)
Great place to get away from it all while still being able to bring your furry friend!
A home amidst bird song, and BIG sky
The cabin felt like coming into a family home and an era gone by and so fondly remembered.
Only suggestion is to have lawn mowed when guests are not in residence.
Nice cabin and location
The cabin is great for relaxing and hiking .
It is located near the Pisgah National Forest, Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, Sugar and Beech Mountains.
Very nice decor, very well equipped and very clean.
I will definitely stay there again
Wonderful getaway and a great base for exploring
We loved this cabin for our base of exploring the area. It is near a number of great trails and sites. It also has some great views, great decor, and a nice screened porch dining area. This is a great place for a family getaway to the mountains.
Wonderful cozy cabin
This was the perfect cabin for my family. It's a beautiful spot and a convenient location. The cabin is cozy and very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner was great to work with. We wished we could have stayed longer. We will certainly return.
Jonas Ridge is a very quiet mountain area. The cabin is approximately 5 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and 8.8 miles to Linville Falls Visitor Center.
Grocery shopping is 20 minutes away in Newland and there are restaurants within 10 to 15 minutes of the area.
Outdoor enthusiasts of all levels are drawn to Jonas Ridge and Gingercake: trout fisherman, mountain bikers, hikers, road bikers, and others who simply enjoy the peace and quiet and the sounds of nature.
