About Linda Brown
We're retired - native Pennsylvanians, but we've lived a lot of places: Massachusetts, California, Hawaii, Georgia, Oklahoma - the last three because Lew was in the military. He's a West Point grad, but left the military and has a PhD in physics. Worked in high tech, most recently as a turn around specialist. My degrees are in Psychology and English, PhD from Carnegie Mellon, spent my career as in academia. Lew is an avid backpacker and skier - I enjoy bridge, travel, and we both are yogis. Our three grown children could not be further apart: Seattle, San Jose, Boston. We enjoy hosting and sharing our home with guests.
Linda Brown purchased this Apartment in 2002
Why Linda Brown chose Salt Lake City
We bought this home when it was nine years old, and gutted it, totally remodeled to our specifications. We wanted a smaller number of larger rooms - with views and - location, location, location. We love the huge windows which let us feel part of the outdoors, the seclusion from neighbors, the quiet, the mountain air, and the wildlife. Our private canyon is small enough that we can easily see elk or moose when they come into the Canyon in winter, and the deer - well, they eat our landscaping every year. We had lived in Park City for a year, but found we were spending more time in SLC because of the cultural opportunities in the City. When we bought this home, Lew was working at Research Park at the University. We're so close he could come home for lunch. And we could be at the airport in a jiffy. It's an easy airport to access. We also wanted space that was inviting for our guests - which is what we have.
What makes this Apartment unique
You can sit in your living room and watch the lights of the City at night - or relax on the patio and watch hikers on the ridge line on the opposite mountain side. We strongly recommend spending some time in the hot tub at night - just to see the starts and satellites. We are removed from the lights of the City, so night time is lovely. Well - you could sit on the patios as well. We like the hot tub!

I can't say enough about the kind hospitality we received from Linda and Lew. They welcomed us in as if we were family. The home is located above the inversion so the views are spectacular morning and night. The home is very clean and the layout is really awesome. There is access to the hot tub which we really enjoyed using. The home has a very comfortable feeling and Linda and Lew were very responsive. This home is a real treat and I am looking forward to my next visit.
A canyon paradise
This property is located in a beautiful, private canyon. You are surrounded on all sides by views of the hills, as well as a stunning view of downtown Salt Lake City at night from the front balcony. It's beautifully furnished, serene and so close to some amazing trails. You're in the canyon, but only a few minutes from shopping, the University, and the rest of Salt Lake City. So close to skiing, too. The owners, Lew and Linda, are wonderful people--so friendly, hospitable, thoughtful, yet still giving their visitors lots of space. One of the best places we've stayed at in Salt Lake City (and we visit SLC often!). Highly recommended!
Scenic SLC rental with hospitality to boot!
Quiet. Scenic. Restful. This summarized our stay this week with one addition: hospitality. I did not realize I had booked a rental where the owners were on property. However, Lew and Linda Brown made us feel instantly welcomed. At first I was concerned about being disruptive to their home life since I was in town with my son to complete a job requiring long hours and early AM arrivals. But the apartment arrangement allowed us to come and go without too much noise. Lew and Linda were very responsive to messages as we kept them updated with our schedule.
The accommodations did not disappoint. What I enjoyed most was the view out the large windows of the SLC valley while working in almost perfect silence. The home is so quiet it was easy to catch up on rest after several late nights.
I only regret we didn’t have more time to visit with the Browns.
Absolutely loved our stay!
Linda and Lew were amazing hosts. The property was perfect for what we needed! Quiet and peaceful with breathtaking views! Three of us girls were in town for the Young Living convention and it was so nice to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the mountains. Thank you all for your kindness and hospitality. ❤
Loved our stay. The location had a beautiful settting with stunning views. We get very comfortable and enjoyed access to the hot tub and garage. We’ll be back!
Great views of the mountains and city and very comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We used the grill and hot tub and both worked well. The owners Linda and Lew were very nice and very responsive to any requests.
Thanks, Tony! Come back anytime.
Our location is incredible. We are in one of the most exclusive areas of Salt Lake City - in a gated community of 17 homes, probably one of the safest places in the City - and the City is a safe place. You won't appreciate how convenient until you get here. You are close to downtown, the University and medical centers, the airport, Park City. We are literally minutes from Interstate 80 and 215. You can get anywhere quickly and conveniently. There is much to do...but many people find it difficult to leave the comfort of their accommodations - with views, hot tub, plenty of space to relax. Strongly recommend four wheel drive in winter if you are renting a vehicle. We ARE in the mountains. You can also use Uber or Lyft or cabs. No public transportation. You'll feel like you're far away from everything - until you find out how close everything is!
