A very happy Wells family!
Had a lovely stay at Courtyard cottage. Extremely well equipped, comfortable and spacious property. Great location in village being a short, flat walk to the beautiful harbour. Parking very easy in such a small village due to John and Kate offering to purchase your parking permit in advance which was ready for you on the dining table. They were very contactable and welcoming, leaving lovely flowers and cream scones on our arrival. They were also very helpful when we'd inadvertently left a few things behind!. Would defnitely love to go again. Many thanks John and Kate from the Wells family
Lovely property a few minutes walk from the Harbour. Wonderfully equipped kitchen, everything thought of you could possibly need to feed 8 people. Beds comfy extra quilts if needed, great pillows. The kitchen is the only downstairs room ,seats 8 comfortably.Excellent customer service from John and Kate right from booking to repayment of deposit.A birthday card flowers and wine awaited us ,a lovely gesture. Great location for travelling around the coast. Excellent Asda 15 minutes away. The Ship Inn was our favourite venue for a meal, and Cornish pasties from the Pastie shop. Thanks John and Kate we had a good holiday.
A Perfect Place to Stay!
We spent a week at the property during March 2019, which was the best UK holiday hat we have had in a long time. The property is a 4 double bedroomed Georgian town house in the centre of Mevagissey in Cornwall. The property has a good sized living room on the first floor and a very nice kitchen/eating area on the ground floor. The property is spread over 3 floors, and has plenty of ambient light at all levels. The property has many nice TV's in the property and some DVD's for entertainment on rainy days if required. The property was very clean and welcoming when we arrived and we immediately felt at home. On our arrival we were welcomed with a lovey Cornish cream team that was provided by John and Kate. In addition there was other provisions provided such as Milk, tea and coffee.
The property is located 5 minutes from the harbour, which was perfect for us as we would often take walks early evening round the harbour. Mevagissey was perfectly located to explore the Cornwall coastline and several wonderful gardens that were only a short drive away.
The property doesn't have its own car park, but there is a public car park perfectly located directly opposite the house. John can secure discounted parking rates for advanced booking, which was very helpful and made things very convenient.
I would recommend staying at the property and spending time in Mevagissey, We will certainly be going back.
Great cottage and location
8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids) went down to Mevagissey for New Year and had a fantastic time. The cottage is right in the middle of the village so we only got in the car once, to go to Charlestown, which is also very nice. The cottage was well equipped and generous with all the things you don't want to bring with you on holiday (coffee, sugar toilet paper etc).
There are loads of books and DVDs and the X-Box was a hit with the kids - my only complaint is that I may have to buy therm one now!
We had a perfect stay in this beautiful property. It is centrally located, across the road from the car park and 2 minutes from the harbour and facilities. The property has everything you could need and lots of lovely extras, so much so one of our party said it felt just like home!
I cannot fault the property in any way and will definitely use one of John and Kate’s properties when we return to Mevagissey.
The South West of Cornwall has a wide variety of attractions to explore. With it's mild climate Cornwall is home to many gardens and National Trust properties. The Eden Project and the Tall Ships Harbour in Charlestown are both within 10 miles of Mevagissey and Truro with its magnificent cathedral and numerous shops is 20 miles away. Fowey, Gorran Haven and the Roseland Penninsula are also popular local destinations. Walk along rugged coastal paths or long sandy beaches, Cornwall has something for everyone, young or old.
Mevagissey has numerous restaurants and family friendly pubs, often hosting live music. Being small, Mevagissey has escaped the commercialisation of other Cornish seaside destinations and has a selection of interesting independent shops. Having made its wealth from pilchard fishing, Mevagissey once had 9 butchers shops. With its double harbour, Mevagissey is one of only a few working fishing villages left in Cornwall and you can take a pleasure cruise or try mackerel fishing whilst enjoying the glorious views of the Cornish coastline where you may catch a glimpse of seals, dolphins or basking sharks. There is a model railway and free museum within the village along with an activity centre which has a variety of activities. There is also a local scuba-diving club and the Pentewan cycle trail has lots of level stretches through the woods following the river. Towards the end of June Mevagissey celebrates Feast Week, a week of family fun, music, and floral dances through the streets. There is a small beach in the harbour and Portmellon and Pentewan beaches nearby. New Year's Eve is not to be missed as all the locals are in fancy dress so don't forget your outfit to see in the New Year.
